moved into a new house so changed from my 120 litre tank to this rio 180

went for a partitioned setup, right hand side is planted gravel and left is white sand with some ocean rock

got some slate and a large piece of bogwood to go in aswell to create more caves/shelter. i think the left hand side is too empty higher up the tank so thinking about stacking the ocean rock up?

and a few of the inhabitants

this is a pic from the old tank with the moon lights on, caught the dwarf puffer snuggling up next to my plec

sadly it looks like i will have to find a new home for the puffer as he/she is not this friendly with some of the other tank mates, always nipping my neon's and caught him/her the other day having a nip at my new knife fish :-(

Yeah dwarf puffers tend to need their own tank sadly T.T I usually keep them in a 5-10 gallon aquarium (species only) without any problems, they are little monsters sometimes

Beautiful Tank by the way

cheers for the comments

my gf has said she would like a small tropical aquarium in the kitchen and says she wants to take on my puffer with a couple of new ones too

i think this is the best idea for the little monster, he is (i'm pretty sure it's a boy because of the dark markings) too destructive for the main tank

i re-arranged the ocean rock last night and added the slate and bogwood, still not sure if i am 100% happy with how it looks

turned the moon lights on and took a pic of my ram, he is so nosey i had to move him away from the rocks when i was re-arranging them for fear of him getting hurt, often he would just stay still until i physically touched him

the lights were a bit bright so turned them down, and out came the knife fish, had a real good nosey round new rock setup, finding lots of little caves to swim through and go hunting for leftover bloodworm and brine shrimp. so happy to see it out from the planted section where it spends all day.

i have considered getting some larger fish due to the amount of free space in the tank, but undecided what i would like to go for. never been a big fan of angelfish, discus is a possibility.
