Hmm Okay well I had to order my DPs since no one in my town or next town over had any. They will be here on friday soo I could get some shrimp tomorrow but I don't know if that is enough time for the shrimp to get acclimated to my tank in time before I get the DPs? I had played around around with the idea of putting some shrimp in the tank I think there are really cool. If I get some shrimp any suggestions on which type to get?

im a few weeks away from getting my tank ready for the DPs i want, but I plan to try RCS since they're fairly inexpensive if it doesnt work out. I also plan to keep a pretty large colony of snails to keep the puffer happy on those and not have to hunt for other prey.

I would try inexpensive shrimp first and see how that goes.

I have a couple of bladder snails in the tank already. I also have a ten gallon that I am keeping the snails in right now. If I run out of those I tons in my 55 gallon tank LoL which where I got them from for the other tanks in first place. I think I will try some shrimp and see what happens. If it turns out to be a bad thing I can always transfer them to the 10 gallon tank. Thanks for the advice SinCrisis!

Just an update.

Today I got up earlier and went all over to get some plants. I picked up two different kinds of swords and some Java fern and some Java moss and another kinda plant that I forgot the name to lol got all that home and planted and tied down. Its starting to look good just needs time to fill out. I also picked up some shrimp ( maybe the puffers will not see them as food but only time will tell ). After I got done with all that it was time to go and get my little puffers. I got them home and accumulate to thier new home as best as I could. I had to cut the time in half for that cause they were getting a little hostile in that small bag One of the little guys got a fin nipped. I don't know when that happened but I am thinking it took place during the car ride home. He seems to okay other then that and he is still swimming around but not as much as the other ones. Will he be okay? Is there something I can do to help him out? I didn't have time to get pics of the setup or the little guys/gals before I had to rush to work Soo when I get off tonight I will get some for y'all.

Some more pics!

Some pictures I took when I went home for lunch. I tried to get a pic of the puffer I was talking but the little guy won't stop moving lol ( after he came out from hiding ) Also some pics of other the others and the tank. I have some issues with the tank I know. 1st being that tall grass I brought it today at Petco thought it looked awesome and not knowing what it was other then the name I bought it. Yeah well soon after I got to work I looked it up mondo grass. Yeah now know that is monkey grass. Grrrrr why would petco sell monkey grass as "mondo Grass " and none the less it was in a aquarium in their store???? Well it is going back tomorrow. I learned my lesson on that one look up every plant from there before I buy it.

Its probably not the same (actually it is not) but when I pulled up the pics of mondo grass that is what i reminded me of it!!They look pretty similar. They really shouldn't sell that as a potted aquarium plant!! They are all ornamental grass. Wish I had known this before I bought it. I will look up the plants on my phone in the store for now on. .

Here are some pictures of the tank. I made some changes and added a few things. There still somethings I got/want to changes just doesn't seem like I have enough time to get everything done the last couple of days. LoL working 12+ hours a day for the last three days just doesn't give me a whole lot of time to do much. LoL

The tank looks AWESOME!! The DPs are ADORIBLE!!!

As far as mondo grass goes...its partially aquatic (I have it in my 29g). You can keep it fully submerged for a long time before it starts to yellow/dies! I have had mine fully submerged for months now and have had no issues with it trying to die or anything!!! I love the look, and dont mind replacing it every 6 months if need be as long as it looks good in my tank (I have artificial mondo grass too...but the real looks too awesome!).
