I have 2 of them and they are my favorite inhabitants of the tank. I handfeed them since my fish like to steal their food so if they see me they always come right up to the glass and stare at me. lol
Thank you. It's funny during feeding time they will "nibble" everything thinking it's food including my snails and the cories. If I stick my hands in there to move something they swim right over and bite at my fingers. They are so funny.
oops i was thinking of an african clawed frog (unless there the same thing? idk whatever). whats there temperment? can the be with like a betta or maybe some tetras?

I have heard that they are good to keep with bettas or tetras. I have been thinking about getting one to keep with my betta. You can keep them with any gentle fish that won't eat them. I have platies and guppies and cories with mine. They are very gentle and pretty much keep to themselves. They are funny though especially when you have more than one. They need a secure lid though or they will escape. Yeah you were thinking of african clawed frogs. They grow to 5 inches long and will eat fish. When you go to purchase them be careful which ones you get. African clawed frogs come in albino or natural colored (adf's don't come in albino) African dwarf frogs also have webbing between their front toes where acf don't. My local petsmart labled them wierd. The african dwarf frogs were labled (African dwarf frog (MD)) And the african clawed frogs were labled (African dwarf frog (XL))
oh that stinks. well this summer im going to make my fire belly toad tank into a tank alot like this one http://www.geocities.com/waltersvivarium/tank.html except with the water in the front and land in the back (thats how it is now just not raised) and i need to think of ideas of things to put in the water portion. its a 20 gallon tank that ill be using so hopefully there will be enough room for 2 africa dwarf frogs and maybe some clams. im definatly going to put live plants so will they be fine with that or will they eat then?
Here are some more pictures to show how friendly they are when they know where the food comes from.
When I walked up one of them was in a little crevace.
Would they be living with the fire bellied toads? Not sure if the toads would eat them or not. They would probably be fine in that setup. They love hiding in plants.

yes the whole tank goes around the toads, i just want maybe something to fill in the gaps (im sure theyll grow on me). my toads never really go to far under water so i think they just float at the surface. if thats the case they sound fine togethor (since one will be at the bottom of the tank and the other on land or on some floating plants at the top) but im also wondering how well theyll go with fiddler crabs, cause id love some of those too.
oh lol. yeah theres been many a time when the bigger one (sarge) will accidentily swallow the smaller ones (richard) leg one the way to get a cricket, its actually funny to watch sarge fight for the cricket and richard his own leg (dont worry he doesnt ever loose it ). maybe ill just stick to inverts.
I have 3 african dwarf frogs too. They are very active in my tank always moving.
