If you play around a bit with that night shot using Windows photo programme, you can probably get a very nice photo. Work with the shadows, highlights, brightness. If you have Windows 7 this program is part of it.

i have photoshop but i rarely use it.i prefer the windows live photo editor.it's simpler.my photos have been tweaked a little to get better result

I believe those are the Cochu, Boehlkea fredcochui, there is a "daytime" photo in kitten's post #1 in this thread. She is playing with night lighting and photos here. The fish really isn't this irridescent.

yeah i was playing with the lighting and i tweaked it too they were labeled as blue tetras these fish have only been in my tank for 3 days.the colors are getting better then the first pic but not blue till the extent of the pics above, but still their colors come out brighter with very low light and virtually impossible to get clear picks off as these little fellows never stay still to get a good shot plus the DSLR can't take picks if the lighting is below -2
