you can slowly add your plants( i recommend www.liveaquaria.com and look at pictures and kinds of plants you like and write down the names and maybe even prices, then google the names and research there li, you dont have to buy them all at once
and if you get the driftwood, id soak it in a bucket for a week and change the water like once a day or every other day unless you dont mind your tank water looking like tea (some people like it aparently)
i think this is going to be a pretty cool looking tank and i cant wait to see pictures in a few months..goodluck with everything!

I like your tank and your ideas. It looks good so far. You'll figure it out as you go along. You may even decide to change a few things in a couple months. I know I did, but I keep my extra decorations on hand for different tank projects. Keep us posted! :D 8)

Yeah, I'll admit, usually I go for a "natural" look with my tanks, with natural gravel or sand, rocks, driftwood, and live plants. However, I really like that brighter-than-the-sun purple gravel.

It's good that you're starting the hobby with such a big tank! You'll find that big tanks are much more forgiving and much more stable than smaller ones. Keep us posted on your progress.

Wow! Like I said before, tanks with the funky-colored gravel and resin decorations aren't usually my thing, but that tank looks awesome!
