looking like a good start... but your right it does look like cloudy water.. and in the second picture looks like theres little to no gravel? is that something your working on building up? ( it will only benefit you in a deeper gravel bed for more room for the "good bacterias" and for your live plants roots to grow)
and as for the ? why not a nice big piece of drift wood and you can grow some live plants off that ( i.e. java moss, or really any moss, java ferns..)

lol nice the underwater water wheel..

i have a cave buried into my gravel in my 55, it blends right in, looks natural and really cool.. and there was a hole in the side and a small hole in the top.. idk if it was meant for a bubbler but i put one in there and its sweet.. bubbles build up inside, then release every couple minutes..
...wish i had pictures

you can do alot of stuff tho with the bubbles, its all about getting creative, like have driftwood or a rock over the bubbler so they escape out around it, thats pretty "natural" looking- well atleast compared to a little skeleton man holding a treasure chest that bobs open every 20 seconds..

and its cool about your "comment" dont even trip over it

the waterfall in the middle and driftwood on the side?
i think that it would work, it always is your tank your rules

see me personally im a fan of all natural tanks, or as natural as i get it.. meaning using basically driftwood, rocks and live plants although i always wanted to do a tank of a submerged city..i think that would be sick.. like nyc underwater, with all the buildings and ofcourse a statue of liberty but i dont know what to make buildings out of and i dont have a big enough empty tank to do it in at the moment but as i said your tank your rules

you can slowly add your plants( i recommend www.liveaquaria.com and look at pictures and kinds of plants you like and write down the names and maybe even prices, then google the names and research there li, you dont have to buy them all at once
and if you get the driftwood, id soak it in a bucket for a week and change the water like once a day or every other day unless you dont mind your tank water looking like tea (some people like it aparently)
i think this is going to be a pretty cool looking tank and i cant wait to see pictures in a few months..goodluck with everything!

I like your tank and your ideas. It looks good so far. You'll figure it out as you go along. You may even decide to change a few things in a couple months. I know I did, but I keep my extra decorations on hand for different tank projects. Keep us posted! :D 8)

Yeah, I'll admit, usually I go for a "natural" look with my tanks, with natural gravel or sand, rocks, driftwood, and live plants. However, I really like that brighter-than-the-sun purple gravel.

It's good that you're starting the hobby with such a big tank! You'll find that big tanks are much more forgiving and much more stable than smaller ones. Keep us posted on your progress.
