Did you get that decoration at PetCo BlackStang97? I noticed one there the last time I was around and just loved it.

I'm getting a 55g in a few weeks, was curious, what type of light do you have in your tank and where did you get it? I really love the look of the tank, would love to have your input. Thanks!

im going to guess power compacts with a daylight, moonlight and acintic light settings. this type of light is a saltwater fixture but can work on a freshwater tank but if infact the bluer lighting is acintic lights check the bulbs to see if they are 50/50 bulbs (half acintic half daylight) it should say somewhere right on the bulb. if not i wouldnt use the blue by itself, i would use both the "whiter looking light" (daylight) with the "bluer looking light" (acintics) because ive read some where that acintics (and even other bulbs like black lights and red bulbs) can make your fish go blind. im not sure how true that is but actually i think it was in decembers issue of Aquarium Fish International

Question

hey guys, i'm new to this site, just got me a 55 gal tank, i believe i made a mistake, listening to the guy at pet smart, he told me to get this certain type of water conditioning and i would be able to stock my tank in 24 to 48 hours, after reading the thing about cycling i believe i messed up, i only put 1 convict cichlid in there to see if he would make it, so can someone tell me what i may need to do from here on out.
