My 40 gallon tank

In another room in my house, I keep a 40 gallon tank. I got this tank from a person who was looking to get rid of their turtles, so I took all their equipment too.

5 fancy guppies, 2 rosie red minnows, 2 eastern painted turtles, 2 comet goldfish, 1 red belly cooter, 1 pleco

I keep Anarchis and Water Wisteria by wedging it against the wall of the tank with a river rock

i like the turtles, how big do they grow ?

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

A fully grown eastern painted turtle's shell will be about 10 inches in diameter, but it takes a long time for that to happen. In the first year of life, their shell grows to about 3-4 inches, then grows at a steady 1 inch per year after that. They live a good long time too. The cooter will grow to be a little smaller.

No problem, I was exposed to turtle keeping young and it has stuck with me. It's a lot of fun, I like watching my turtle tank better than TV 8)

Angel, the tank is approx. 3 feet long, 2 feet tall (excluding topper) and 1 foot wide.
