Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

A black background would look great. I like the look of tannin stained water. When I first added my driftwood my water was like yours but now it's all clear. Yours will also clear, no problem. I think the tank looks great. What is your eventual stocking plan? Have you posted pics of your 30 gl on another thread somewhere??

I am waiting about one more week and then adding 3 more cories! And then in about two weeks after that I may add a small school of tetras or something like that, and then it will be finished.

No pics of the 30g. It was tall, which I hate, and had blue gravel, which I also hate, so I just took the fake plants from it and the two bettas and put them in the 20. Once the water clears, and I put a background on it I will personally love it.
Of course real plants would make it ten times better, but maybe that's something in the future I can do and learn about.

Ok so I added a background, what do you think about the before and after pics???? I also added two Amazon Swords, trying my luck at plants. I am going to switch out my bulb for the real plants, what bulbs should I be looking at?
You can see my FAT female betta in the last pic!

Looks great! What type of sand is that? Where did you get it? And how does one vacuum that? Sorry for so many questions.

The sand is play sand from Lowe's, 50lbs for 5 bucks. You just hover over the sand when vaccuming, some sand does get sucked up but it's not a big deal.

I love it. It looks like the same (or similar) background I have for my 20 gallon. I use the opposite side for my 10 gallon.

I think a background of any type makes an aquarium look more like a home rather than just a place to live. I think there's a difference.
The background you chose fits your decor perfectly.
