They are sands. Actually these photos are old. I upgrade the tank last week. I put porous gravel on top of the sand, only half of the area. So far they are all very well alive and eating all food i give to them. The ammonia level is on .03..something. I think my tank already cycled because I had to clean my filter as the water overflows from the canister as it has too much algae & muck under it. I clean them with old water from the tank.
I have question.. The filter I have, have 3 boxes, 2 of them are sponge and 1 in the middle is like white charcoal. Does the charcoal needs to be replaced? & how often. I opened the boxes and cleaned them all.
I put another plant..
