Time for a change..
very mature, an over grown 75 gallon.
Sold of most of the plants and wood.
Future tank will be open with several pieces of manzanita,
will also be planted, have a lot to choose from.
NEVER try this during a holiday...what was I thinking. It's been about 2 weeks to this point..
Day one..
Will keep ya posted.
I don't know HOW you had it in you to tear apart that tank - GAH! It was gorgeous!!!
. . . gorgeous again already, though ^_^ You've done a great job so far!
Definitely with Sandy - that Anubias is swoon-worthy, and I ADORE Manzanita wood - you've got some great pieces in there! The Blue Marble is stunning - how many babies are coming to live with you, and who else is going to be living in there?
Please keep us posted on how this tank develops, definitely off to a good start! I'm excited to watch this one grow. .
There goin to be 8+ angels, due to weather on east coast, shipping has been put on hold. other tank mates are a school of sapphire tetras, a school of black neons, several small types of placos cats, an a breeding school of black koolie loaches. When I took old tank apart I found about 25 koolies, started out with 4. And of course several types of snails.
I use API products, gravel is mixed with API 1st layer pure laterite, API liquid fert LEAF ZONE every other week, an API Plant Tabs about every 3 months. No CO2...
Lionhead your tank looks lovely as always!! I can't remember every seeing a tank of yours that wasn't just awesome looking! Keep up the good work and please keep us posted.
Just a few pixs, Mag Lace Plant has started to come in, go back an look at the post on the 11th, an today, lace has kicked in...
Also a pix of the biggest angel, it's a little smaller than a dime...an Mean...
Time for a trim on some plants already..
How come you don't like the angel? He looks pretty! Is it because he was smaller than expected? That's strange that he is mean he's too young to already be mean! Haha! In my experience marble varieties tend to be meaner.... Maybe it's just a coincidence. Posted via Mobile Device
Well, several reasons, I had to wait for a month to get them due to the holidays and then the weather, back east. That's really no ones fault. Also, these are not the " Exact Fish you will receive " Bait and switch. I lost 2, 1 DOA, an 1 the next day. And a breeder that could really care less. Size, I have purchased a lot of angels, an shipped a lot of angels. NEVER would I ship fish so small.. I personally think the breeder over sold and was sending what ever he could to fill orders.. The fish pictured was the biggest, the rest were half his size. So, I'm a pissed off consumer, an I will dog the breeder at every chance I get.. Good money spend, all around BAD experience..
Wow, that is pretty shady that they would send you different fish....! I'd be ticked off too if they were supposed to be exactly the same. I think small fish can be shipped safely but only if they know what they are doing which apparently this person didn't. :/ well I hope the ones you got grow up to be nice! Posted via Mobile Device
Thanks, I guess what really gets me, is the breeders lack of concern. I have had tanks for over 50 years, I was shipping fish 40 years ago. It's a new day and a different world, the $ talks no matter how ya get it..
Gorgeous pictures (it does take skillz!!!) of a lovely tank (more skillz!).
Things seem to be growing in beautifully over there! Thank you for sharing your experiences with this seller, though I'm very sorry to hear that it wasn't so positive. :/
. . . can't wait to see what happens in here next! Keep up the good work, this is shaping up to be an amazing tank!
This tank was completely takin apart, all gravel was washed, tank was scrubed, an started from scratch. Sounds harder than it was, just took time, an love. Hardest part was finding 2 young people to move the tank outside to scrub it an move it back. Did I say up and down 2 flight of stairs..It was worth it.. love my tanks.
Nothing on TV, learning my new camera.
Can't get a good shot of the white snail, have to wait till it get up in the front of the tank, it's only 1/2 inch wide.
Tank is about 4 weeks old now.
Placos never touch it. Try feeding your placos slices of zucchini, I slice'm bout 1/4 in thick with skin on, rubber band to a shot glass. In this tank, I do this once a week an there are 4 slices. Also, if ya have a snail problem, in the morning take zucchini out an pick snail off an return to tank..Great snail control, with no chemicals..
