Update: I set up the new Eheim 2213 filter last night. Had some problems with priming and got shot in the face, but it's up and running. There does seem to bea bit of a humming sound coming from the filter. Yuo can barely hear it with the door to the stand closed, but it's definitely louder when the door is open. I am told that this is not normal and it should be near silent, so I may have to take it apart and start over....UGH! I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in several times but it did not make a difference. I have a feeling it's probably the impeller. Can someone chime in and tell me how I go about turning the flow off so when I open the canister water doesn't come gushing out on me (again)? Do I simply turn the gray dials on the disconnects? What about the 1 inch of hose from the disconnects to the filter? Just wanna get it right....

Your list looks good Lisa!

In my first order I got the Sag. and in my second order I got the Narrowleaf chain. I like the Narrowleaf chain better....the shape and look of the blades and the height, etc. I love the blooms or whatever they are called.....looks like seed shoots.

I can't wait to see how it all works out for you. I still have a few more things to get but will wait for their new shipment. My plants have a lot of height growth to do since my tank is tall. They are growing though!

Yeah, after seeing Angel's pictures, I'm definitely going with the chain sword. Thanks for confirming that for sure Their website says a new shipment comes in on Friday. I sent them my plant list and asked for suggestions/opinions and just noted that I'm willing to wait for the new shipment to come in before they ship my order.

Ordered my plants today with a delivery date of next Friday. I wanted to wait so I can have a full day (Saturday) to make the change. Below is the official plant list:

3 x Nymphoides Aquatica
1 x Cryptocoryne Petchii
1 x Ludwigia Natans (Ludwigia Repens)
1 x Pennywort Pot (Hydocotyle Leucocephyala)
2 x Cryptocoryne Wendtii Red Pot
1 x Echinodorus Tenellus (Narrow Leaf Chain Sword)
1 x Nymphea Lotus Red (Red Tiger Lotus)
4 x Vallisneria Asiatica Var. Biwaensis (Corkscrew Val)
2 x Anubias Frazeri
1 x Echinodorus Rubin Pot
2 x Echinodorus Bleheri (Amazon Sword) Pot

I'm thrilled with this selection and Sweet Aquatics was very helpful and accommodating. Thanks, Mary and Dan! You guys rock!

It actually quieted down quite a bit. But, I emailed the seller to ask for suggestions on what to do and without hesitation he just said he'll send me out a brand new filter! It works fine, but I believe it should be quieter than it is.

Plants came today! My fiance is working a double today and he's helping me with the big change, so we're going to do everything first thing tomorrow morning!

wow. i had the same noisey impeller issue with my eheim, most of the time, especially with a new canister, rolling it around on the base to get trapped air out works wonders. Took me a couple weeks to figure that one out lmao

make sure we get pics!
