someone told me discus that are kept in a planted tank from small will grow up to be disfigured when they get bigger.i saw pics of his so i send them back to the lfs. he said if i wanted discus i needed adults.they fair better in planted tank that are slightly cooler.my temp is at 28 degrees and i dint want funny looking discus in there. so i went and swap them for corries which was a big mistake they have been digging up the fert soil and causing my tank to be forever filled with particles.even my sump is so dirty when it's less then a month old.will need to re-home the cory once i'm done with the large tank thats been up for 24 hours and still cycling.

My 47g community. I've had to trim the plants back a fair bit since this photo as they were taking over. I'm very happy with my first tank and so are my cories, who've recently started depositing eggs on the glass for me. I've manged to save a few eggs and put them in a fry trap, so will hopefully have some babies soon.

I've never heard of such a thing. I'm glad my Discus didn't either since they have grown up in a planted tank, lol.

Maybe he just had too many plants and too little swimming space?

I got my plants in for the southeast asian tank... Keeping it secret for now though. :P
