the backing paper is on the outside(made it myself)
i think i will keep this on,i do have another which
is black, however although the tank looks really nice
at night with the black, the day time is so dark
that i don't like it,so guess this is it then.
many thanks guys. :)

Does the backing paper have a textured effect willow? It looks like it from the pictures.

Oh - and your tank is looking fantastic as always :)

thank you. :) might even look a little clearer later
hopefully as it's w/change day today.
the backing sort of is textured,
it was brown paper painted with normal house hold
paint, when i got board with it i took it off
and rolled it up,then some time later as you know
decided to put it back on,unrolled it and that was the
effect. :)

THANK YOUUU :D

willow, for household paint that looks incredible! I agree that it really looks organic. ill have to experiment with my own backings now, but im sure it wont come out that good.

beetlebz,
have a try,it's so easy and cheap that's why
i did it,i like the simple things in life, and you can't go wrong
trust me,if i can do it so can everyone.!!!
all you do is measure the paper, paint it,leave to dry
and that's all there is to it.
apart from that, my tank is against the wall
so that rules me out for getting behind and
doing the oil way,the only other thing i did was to
buy an expensive backing paper from the LFS
and actually put it inside the tank, which is what i have done
with the little tank.

I tried with some dark orangey-brown scrap booking paper. it looked alright, but made my glowlights invisible lol

went down and bought the blue shiney stuff from petco today, and taped the hell out of it with scotch tape. now I gotta go take pictures again, but I assure you it didnt come out nearly as well as your bg did!

hay the beetlebz
don't worry.my first attemp was awful
maybe it was the colour that didn't help.
i would imagine that's why a lot of fish people
go for the black or blue, the fish don't seem to
dissapear with that.
i will look forward to seeing pics, and how you have got on.
shame you have applied the blue already,i would have liiked
to have seen the effect of the orange.
still.....i bet it looks fantastic now.
that's the thing with this hobby, trial and error.............
but fin(whoops ment fun) along the way.
:) :) :)

actually the orange fell off lol it got a little soggy in the back when I took my filter out for a rinse. When I make a my big fresh community tank I might go all black with black gravel, and then try the orange again. it was kinda nifty :)

anyway yeah ill post pictures once I get my params under control and the tetras colors start coming back. thanks sooo much for the help! and again, your angels look wonderful ^_^
