I somehow got a cyano bacteria infestation looks, like algae acts like algae but kills all the plants by sufication. Pulls all the nutrients out of the water and grows so rapidly that it covers everything in tank like algae.
I cleaned the tank so many time that I think the glass is thinner now! but 24 hrs later whole tank was covered again. No one could tell me what was going on , so I did a tank black out thinking that would work, but NO, few days after I finished the black out it was back even stronger than before. nasty stuff let me tell you. even took some of it to three different pet stores they all said it was algae.Finaly a friend of mine that works at a waste water treatment plant came over and noticed the tank and said that I had a cyano bacteria infection.
But by then all my plants were gonners.

Uugghh...Yeah, I had that stuff in my 10 gallon before I turned it into a QT tank. It was growing on my sand. I kept sucking it out but it would come back. All it takes is one little spore left behind and it comes back. What finally did it in for me was when I had to treat the tank with antibiotics. That killed the cyano and it has'nt been back since.
