Oh the sound is really what makes it! Gosh, that video is so cute!

Anyway, it took youtube forever to upload my video last night. So long that I had to leave it running when I went to bed. Finally here is Waddles. For those of you who I haven't filled in on the story, she's in a hospital tank. In the fall of last year she began flipping when I fed her the higher-protein food. So I stopped, but eventually she flipped and wasn't able to right herself. I gave her anti-parasite meds with no luck. So at the behest of some kindly members on another forum, I tried an alternative method. I placed her in the 20 gal QT with barely enough water to cover her body, turned up the temp to 84F and fasted her. But on a daily basis I would right her with my hands. I was skeptical at first, but it actually worked. Waddles still isn't able to swim perfectly, but she's upright. The next step is to slowly raise the water level in the 20 gal before she goes back into the big tank. Here she is in the 20 gal QT. (I keep it clean with daily water changes.)

Well I don't know why the video isn't imbedding, but the link should work.

atari flips for a few hours every once in a while after she eats her pellet food. it has not been nearly as much since i feed her duckweed daily.i assume that it is something internal.she passes gas and flip back over.sounds similar to what waddles is going through.i feed them nls goldfish formula.i was thinking about trying hikari purple bag.the shape of the hikari is elongated. do not know if this will help though.what do you feed waddles?

Waddles is now almost entirely fed Repashy soilent green gel. I've had issues with floaty issues in the past and for the most part, switching over to gel food as a staple has stopped that. My goldies will still get NLS garlic formula every once in a while (mostly when I'm in a hurry as the Repashy needs to be refrigerated). They also get frozen veggies and frozen meaty foods every once in a while, too.

I know food likes Hikari and NLS are great foods, but my goldfish have just never done well with dry food as their staple. I used to make my own gel food, but it's a lot of work compared to the pre-mixed Repashy.

It was pretty fun to make up the food, but I just don't have that time anymore. You should be able to find some recipes on Koko's Goldfish. There is a website to accompany the forum and a lot of recipes are listed there.

Another sad update. Waddles is dead. She started losing control over her swim bladder again earlier last week. She would lay on her side all day long and struggle to get upright for food. Last Thursday I found her dead. This is the last picture I have of her. You can see her beginning to tilt.

Say goodbye to Waddles.

Sorry to hear that.
At least she died in the care of someone who was interested in her welfare and worked to improve her life.

That is so sad! RIP Waddles!

I've never had any problems with 'Impulse Buying'. They're just animals that I forgot I had planned to get.

Thanks for the support, everyone. It was tough losing her. There will never be another fish like her.
