How I spent my summer vacation...

After replacing the substrate and replanting this tank, I got a chance to snap a few shots of the clown pleco, catfish, barbs and danios.
All my hard work:

brochis splendens

rosy barbs

giant danios

clown pleco (can you see him?)

Hope everyone enjoyed their summer vacation as much as I did :)

Very nice tank. Hat's off to you for capturing danios in the photos. Are you planning on some real driftwood for clown pleco? They are one of my favorites. Or is driftwood in photos real? :)

That's fake driftwood. Not planning on adding real any time in the future. I have a pretty low pH to start with and I don't want to ad anything in that's going to monkey with it.

I have about 10 bad shots of those danios for every 1 good one, they are FAST. Same for the barbs. I finally figured out that if I take really big shots with the flash on auto I can crop in and get decent shots with the danios in frame.

As stated in previous post Clown Pleco is a favorite of mine. While doing research on them before buying ,I discovered that wood is a substantial part of the clown plecos diet.It is necessary for their long term health. They also enjoy algae wafers and vegetables.

I guess I will be getting George some driftwood then! I think his current diet is pretty limited, so I need to beef it up to keep him healthy.

The tank looks great!

Driftwood won't always affect the PH. I have a small piece in my 55 gallon and it hasn't changed my Ph but my chocolate pleco loves to rasp on it.

Thanks for all the compliments and input :) I am going to be looking for some driftwood for George this weekend.

I bought an ozelot sword this weekend at the local aquarium society (GCAS) meeting, so that will be going into this tank soon as well. I think the fake drift wood will be coming out entirely soon.

I am really enjoying this tank. Now that the 30 high is empty I'm going to start work on it, but I'm almost reluctant to change my focus from this one! hehe...

And I have a ten gallon to get running again...

MTS? what MTS?
