OK, here's the answer. It's a Paratilapia Polleni (a.k.a. Black Diamond cichlid,, Marakeli cichlid) from Madagascar. Grows to about 10" (females slightly smaller). Mine is young and doesn't yet have his black color although he is a lot darker now (this pic was taken several months ago). The pic below mine is of a mature one and you can see why they are called Black Diamond cichlids.

Wow. Amazing fish Jeaninel. What size tank is that going to need? I imagine it will have to be alone like many of the larger cichlids. Beautiful fish. you stumped us!!

A 75 gallon would probably be fine if kept all by itself. Mine is in a 135 gallon with other cichlids. They were all introduced into the tank at the same time when they were about 2" each. Growing up together has really helped with them getting along with each other. They've sorted out their pecking order and I have no major aggression issues.
