One of the new turquoise rainbows died the other day. Little 1.5 inch fish - I could smell it as soon as I walked in the apartment because of the 88 degree water. I had a feeling it was going to die - separated itself from the group. The little denisons and rainbows school together. They've got some growing to do to catch up to the ones in the 125, that is for sure. I've been feeding them both, plus the new congos and the silver dollars NLS growth formula 2-3 times a day. The only ones I'm really worried about are the congos - I'm not adding them to the 90 until they start to show their mature coloration and finnage. I'm pretty confident that the congos in the 90 are too big for the bichir to catch and eat. Especially now that the java moss is not there to provide an ambush situation.
So I put the rainbow in a zip lock and froze it. Gonna return it tomorrow for a refund, which I will be putting into PUPPY FOOD!
I have a little experiment going. I dried out a big ball of java moss (not on purpose). I set up the 5 hex and put it in there. There's a good chance the 5 hex is gonna see some action in the near future
