Luckily, I started the heat treatments when I did (albeit a few weeks later than usual) so that I can move the fish to the show tanks at the end of the week. Saturday I'm taking Agent13 to my good fish store - I suppose that will be our first date

Fishkeeping

Silver dollars, pictus and upside down cats are now in their tanks. The eel will remain in quarantine until it's eating NLS, and it will be in the tank alone from here on out.

Plans have changed - they just couldn't do without me at work. They begged me to go in for 2 hours and offered us a free dinner after. Soooo, the fish store date will have to wait.

It's 4 in the morning. Less than 12 hours.....

Ugh, puppies will be up in a few hours, like clockwork. 730 every day. Sometimes I wish I could drug them to sleep in.

Well, we never made it to any fish stores, but we did go to the state aquarium. Unfortunately the african section (among others) was closed.

Soooo, back to having empty quarantine tanks.

. . . and filling them up again soon, too, I hope! But with WHAT!?? ^__^

I find myself very disappointed by trips to our local aquarium now that I'm a fishkeeper. ESPECIALLY when I hit the Amazon section where the exhibits include many of the fish and plants that are fairly common in tanks. Hands down my tanks are nicer, my fish healthier. Makes me sad to see. . . about the only thing I really like there is the native fish section - I'll hang out there for hours in fascination - but even so, they aren't what they should be. Hopefully YOUR aquarium is much better than mine - Agent will be able to give a good comparison! Glad you guys had a good time, though!

I LOVE sharks and rays. They do have a really nice shark and ray tank there.. Or two.. Can't recall if those were two different tanks or one. He picked out a pretty hammerhead sharkie for me . They're all just so huggable . Im trying to compare it to Baltimore .. Which also has a decent shark tank.. However I *think* perhaps Jerseys is much nicer. Some areas were shut down do a fair comparison isn't possible. The one I take the kids to down here at Wilmington NC is pretty nice.. They have a lot of really cool saltwater tanks. I'll say though I was a little sad the African section was closed.. It's a good thing I cared more about the company I was with then the fish . It is a nice aquarium though. I get distracted by sharks though.. I could go through an awful aquarium and not notice it wasn't great as long as they have a decent shark tank haha.... I just want to jump I and play with them.
