Bichir is now in the 125. The SDs, pictus and eel are being quarantined together in a 29, the upside down cats are being quarantined in the 20 long, and the loach in the 20 high.

Yeah I had some empty quarantine tanks

So while I'm quarantining the pictus, SDs and eel together, the eel is going to remain in the 29 for a while. I need to make sure that it is eating the pellets well, as well as growing a bit larger.

125 - BGK, chanchito cichlid, pictus cats, silver dollars, palmas bichir
125 - cichlids (severums, bolivian rams, chocolate), rainbows ( turquoise, red), loaches (angelicus, zebra, kuhli and horseface), plecos (BN, RL and clown), denison barbs, tiretrack eel, pearl gouramis, betta
90 - Congo tetras, african knife, upside down cats, spotted ctenopoma, kribensis, delhezzi bichir
2.5 - betta

Do you keep your QT tanks cycled even when they're empty? I realized that a lot of people say they QT but it seems like their tanks are uncycled when they plop the fish in...

Yes the quarantine tanks are cycled and run 24/7. Like the show tanks, they are never "cleaned". The bacteria colonies can survive for months without fish in the tank, IME. They all have some MTS though, so them and the waste in the filter media keep things going.

Aww. Thanks for keeping her. So looks like you have a girl and Baybay is a boy. I do wonder if they'd be able to be tanked together. Probably not... But maybe. BGK is soooo cute!

And here I thought he was posting that for me!! (Chesh did too I'll bet! NOT )

I am spellbound by the BGK!!

What is the current length of the Bichir and BGK?

Thanks for sharing that video with US.

I think baybay is going to get too big for them to live together. They will have to be long distance lovers.

The knife is about 12 inches and the bichir is 8. They've got as much as 8 and 4 inches still to go, respectively. I have to widen the hole again in the stump for the knife.

Show tanks 125, 125, 90, 10, 5, 2.5
QTs 2x29, 2x20

Did water changes this week and finally started the heat treatment. Was hoping some of the fish would get infested.

I had to go back and check - last water change was on 11-23.
