Alright, so last week while I was away, the bichir ate another congo tetra. I have decided to move the bichir to the big fish tank, but since I'm going away this week too, I just moved it to a quarantine tank. So now I don't have to grow fish out in quarantine tanks before I can put them in the 90.

No, they aren't diggers - they stalk and ambush their prey. It's a full 8 inches long so it would take a lot of blackworms. Im sure it would like a nice fat nightcrawler. I feet it about 7-10 NLS thera A pellets - 3 mm size.

Yeah, petsmart sells them really small. Actually, I don't think I've ever seen large senegals for sale. Really neat fish - I'm sure your friend will enjoy it.

what's a night crawler ?..soounds creepy.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Bichirs are really pretty fish. Too bad they get so big. Other wise I would get one.

You have 4 male Boese... getting any females? They will need a mop to spawn on but they will do it if given the chance. Mine do!! I have 2 males and 4 females in my 75.

That is one AWWWWWWesome tank mate!!

Poor Ranbow! A wise move, to be sure... I'm sure he'll fare much better on his own. Which tank will he be getting?

PetMainia - no doubt about it - they're GORGEOUS animals!

I'd be tempted, but I know that I'm too much of a softie to keep the more agressive animals. They really are stunning, though - and fascinating, behaviorally-speaking. . . I'm more than happy to watch and learn from across the screen!

Thanks, Jaysee - always good to hear what's going on over there! Got anymore eye-candy for me (I/E photos!)??? I'd love to see the villain in question!
