wolf fish are highly predatory and anything sick or injured will quickly be despatched (regardless of size).

he will be come a threat to the clown loaches and juwel cichlids that currently share the tank, however I have plans to move them way before that happens. all the other tankmates should be fine (bichirs, reedfish, fire eel, apollo sharks, Dorminator maculatus & eel catfish), provided they stay fit and healthy.

I will say this is not a fish for the inexperienced and a bite from one may need several stitches, so care should be taken when doing anything in a tank that houses one.

the diet is a meat based one, so plenty of prawn, muscle, lancefish etc is essential.

With a stocking list like that I have to ask...how big is your tank??? You've got some big boys in there!

the tank is 54 inch long 18 inch wide and 30 inch high (that is water level not total height). tank is filtered by 1 eheim classic 2215 and 1 tetratec ex1200

I'd just like to state that I know the D.maculatus will get way too big for this tank and will be going into a friends 900G within the next month or two, he will also be getting my male ornate bichir for breeding purposes, as soon as his female is of a size that can stand up to a 16 inch monster such as him.
