Looks like a smorgasboard instead of fish for sale. If they sell them fast enough then I don't what to say but that is just an odd thing to see!

Eek! That's terrible if they keep the fish in there for more than a few hours! ... I've never seen anything like that in my entire life.. (you know, since I've seen soooo many things in my long lifespan. :P)

Ye gads!!! How infuriating and nauseating. We have that on the sidewalk unfortunately. I don't buy fish in stores where they are packed in plastic bags. No filtration for one day and the poo will certainly poison them.

Street fish?

That's a horrible practice, I guess it's a lot cheaper for the entrepreneur, but...wow, just wow.

Er..yes.
The mayor of the city hasn't done anything to stop such horrible practice. On the side note, he actually provided the vendors those stalls for hanging plastic bags of fish.
The fish are exposed to rough handling, high traffic of passerbies and vehicular noise. Everything else just stresses the fish. Unfortunately, when I used to buy there, I noticed that the fish I bought from such trades die faster than those I bought from my friend whose lfs maintain fish better than any lfs around here.
