Thanks!!

Had another oto death-the tiniest one again about 3 weeks ago (Gotta be a food thing..) , and my amano shrimp appears to have died yesterday-several hours after a water change. Tank parameters are all fine, so I'm assuming maybe the lone puffer went after him. During the change, like usual, he was swimming all over the place. It was just kind of sitting on its back with an occasional twitching leg...I tried to fish it out with a net, but everytime I touched it, it would jump away...so I left it in til this morning, and now I can't find it.

Other than that, I'm still trying to find somewhere I can get another puffer (or 2-3)... I'm looking for a 20 gal tank or so right now, as I'm going to upgrade them as soon as I move out in March (after our honeymoon). The 2 remaining bettas I have will inherit the puffer 10 gallon aquarium. I'll be planting the betta tank when I move them to the 10 as well. I have so many plants crammed in the 10 right now, it's not even funny. I'll be set with at least 6 wisteria plants and 3 amazon swords to put in the betta tank right off the bat...depending how the 20 looks when I disperse what I have.

Here's a photo of the puffer tank today. It looked really bad a few days ago..had to trim a bunch of plants...The amazon plant on the front left (screens left) will be removed...it was floating for awhile, in preparation for the new puffers tank, which I haven't put together as I can't find anywhere to order them...and the Wisteria group in the front middle will be removed as well. THe tank looked nicer without those two sets in there...but I forgot to snap a pic beforehand. lol

She comes up to the front expecting food when you walk by lol. The otos dart around occasionally.

That's awesome. So you have only ONE puffer? How many Ottos left? Does the Puffer mess with the other fish at all? One day I WILL have a Puffer tank :) Learning all I can by watching other's now...

Yes. Just one puff currently. She's very docile, as was her buddy who go herself wedged behind the filter, panicked and puffed...and couldn't get out. She died about a month and a half ago. She doesn't mess with the others much...occasionally chases them. I have 3 Otis remaining. Ill introduce more, and more shrimp, again when I upgrade the tank. I have it very heavily planted, so can get away with putting alot in the tank. Plus, there's plenty of space for puffs to hide and stay out of line of sight.

My other puff and my current one were best buds. They did everything together. I hope i get lucky with my next ones ill be getting.

Aww, man... that is so sad about your Puffer, I'm so sorry to hear. *cries* It sounds like you've been having a bit of a run of bad luck - never a fun time... it'll be nice to see the upgrade when you get that far. I also hope your next Puffer(s) are sweet and get along well. Must be so much fun to watch. I can't wait for the day when I get some, finally :) Puffers are really quirky and interesting fish, no doubt about that!

I just can't find anyone to get puffers through lol. nobody around here will/can order them for me. Hopefully it'll be easier come spring. The otos I've been having trouble with off and on since my fiance and I set up the tank a year ago. Had 2 with no issues, with the 3rd one out dying every time we tried introducing it. Finally got the number back up to 3, but only with the 4th dying after awhile. *shrug* They're hard little fish to keep.
