Well spent some time playing around with settings on the camera taking pictures of my pink cons. Since I gotten them almost two weeks ago they have been more active in the tank. The female is also coloring up very nicely. I am expecting them to spawn sometime soon. I have found these guys very interesting to observe and can't wait to watch as they raise their fry. Enjoy :-D
Thank you, my females coloring has really improved since I got her two weeks ago and they seem to be settling in real well. I have them set up in the livingroom near the couch where I usually sit at when on the computer or watching tv and I find myself looking over to watch them all the time. Actually doing that even now as I am typing :-D
Stunning convicts they defiantly are not your run of the mil cons. What size tank are they in? I am glad you are enjoying them cichlids are one of the most interesting fish to keep.
Yes they are stunning :-D I have them in a 20 gallon. Just found eggs this morning that the female layed in one of the pots. She is spending most of her time in there coming out for morning feeding. She also comes out once in awhile to make sure the male is doing his job of guarding, and I think she is getting another area ready to move them once they are ready. It has been amazing to watch their personalities already and looking forward to watching them raise their spawn. I am looking foward to seeing how the fry turn out.
Sounds great. If they are anything like my pair the female will be a little aggressive toward the male and keep him out of the cave for the most part. His job is to guard the perimeter.
Thankyou brokenrules69 :-D Did fake plants on the substrate which is not my prefered choice. But with cons they do not do well with plants they tend to dig them up, so fake plants with them it is.
