My wife scored 25 snails. Not as much as I was hoping for but its a start. They are small too so they will need to grow some.......though may not be a bad thing for the small puffers.

So are you just putting them in the puffer tank all at once?

How much do they cost there?

LoL yes pests. Most stores around me consider bladder, pond, ramshorn snails as Pest and will give them away or feed them to their fish. I have never seen Malaysian trumpet snails in stores near me. Now apple or mystery snails they sale. I would ask them about them and see what they say you might find some free food.

I threw together a new tank last night about 3am LoL so it doesn't look that great. I didn't have much stuff to go into as it is just for snails.

Nitrates were between 10-20, Nitrites were 0, Ammonia looked to be between 0-.25. Will test them again tomorrow and do a wc if need be. I am thinking some of that is coming from the gravel I have my emersed plants in. I plan on redoing that tomorrow and will rinse the gravel really good. I may do it today if I have time. As tomorrow is going to be a busy day for me with Thanksgiving ugh!

I'm jealous that you guys are having Thanksgiving. We already had ours and now it's just business as usual this week here. I want another turkey.

That sand looks amazing! I'm going to have to show Jodie but then she's going to want it.

Is that the "play sand" I keep hearing about? Or is it special sand? It looks great. I would love for my TRS/Amazon tank to look like that.

I plan on adding lots of plants to that tank and the gross substrate really takes away from nice plants. I am loving the black substrate I put in our two newest tanks, but as I mentioned I can't use that in an RTS tank.

Do you plan on adding more water to the tank?

The sand in both tanks are just play sand. The Puffer tank has Quikrete playsand its a lil darker then the Premium play sand in the snails tank.
Adding more water to which tank? The snails yes I just realized it was a lil low this morning when I got up. I was really tired last night when I got done and guessI didn't realize I didn't fill it up all the way. LoL its like 5 am before I got done and called it quites.
I plan on putting some plants in the 10 gallon next payday (next Friday) I added a black background and some bacteria in a bottle to the 10 gallon today to help cycle it. My crappy heater for 10 is broke so I guess I will have to use the one for my 55 until I can get a new one for the 10 .

YaY!!! My two lil puffers ate today!!! I put 4 snails in the tank at the same time I feed the big guy bloodworms so he won't see the snails. I had to direct the lil puffers over to where the snails were. One took the hint right away and 2 as soon as he saw them. The other one was a lil slower but he got on that they were food and ate one too! I will have to find some more snails this weekend and hopefully some blackworms still. I am just glad I saw them eat!
