I really, really enjoyed your walk-through! Seeing your tanks through the camcorder, and hearing you talk about them (I loved hearing your voice, so nyah!) really brought them to a new level of life for me. They're lovely, truly. Very well done :)

. . I hope you figure out how to get rid of said "brown stringy algae fungus bacteria crap" can't imagine your frustration at having it follow you around for so long! I wish I had some advice to offer, but I've never dealt with it before. Hopefully Byron's input will prove helpful in getting rid of it for good. . .I'm sad that you have to deal with this in what is otherwise a stunning tank with an adorable little animal in residence.

LOL, I'm with Izzy! YAY for Apple babies! SOOOOOOO many snails, just awesome. . . still hoping that you'll let me buy some from you when they're ready, too. It will be so neat to keep them, having seen where they came from. ^.^

So 4 days ago I set up a Hospital tank to treat the male Scarlet Badis tail. I had him in 5.5 tank with an established filter. I tested the water 0,0,5 were the results of those in the tank so I put him in there and started the treatment of Furan-2. The meds require 2 days of meds then a 25% water change then 2 days of meds and finally 25% water change again along with a carbon filter to remove the color.

The little guy hated it ..... it stressed him out really bad and he wouldn't eat except a lil nibble on the 2nd day. He stayed hidden all the time and I hated the whole thing but I thought it was the best thing/the right thing to do.

On the final day (last night) I went to do a water and just to find the little guy floating with his head pointing up and not swimming. He was breathing but I don't think it was normal. He would swim but it seemed to take great effort and it wouldn't be much.

Daddy this morning I found him in the sponge filter dead. I figured he wouldn't make it through the night but I was hoping still that he might pull through. I know I should have just let things take its course and not interfere. He seemed happy till *I* messed up his lil world even with his tail the way it was.

Soo RIP my lil badis!

I am sorry for the loss of the little guy.

One thing though is that you're blaming yourself based on an assumption. You're assuming he died because he was moved and the medication. There is nothing that makes you think that except it was the course things took. The very same thing might have happened without moving him. You don't know what exactly killed him. Had he died in the main tank then you would be blaming yourself for not treating him.

You right it is an assumption and I don't know for sure what killed him but before I put him there like the day before he was fine and acting normal and even coming out to greet me, taken food out of a pipette. All seemed good till I medicated him. So what would you think? All signs to me seem like it was the treatment. I HATE having to treat fish as it always goes bad for me.

Through in all honesty your right BWG I would have blamed myself for not treating him when he had died in the main tank.
