ME TOOOOOOO!!! I think. . .I really like it how it is right now, but it would be cool to see it grow to the surface. From what I've read, it WILL, unless you keep it trimmed. And once you let it get up there, it'll never give up. Hopefully, we'll both get a chance to find out!

Added some Egeria densa

Today I got some Egeria densa and added it to my snails tank. I went to get some snails for the store and ended up getting Egeria densa also. I have never had this plant before but I couldn't pass it up for a $1.50!
Is this an easy plant to grow?? According to the profile for it it says it is. Though it says the lighting requirements for it is low then says medium to bright in another spot. So thats kinda confusing??? This is a 10gallon with a standard T8 18" bulb. Is that going to be enough light for it??

Yeah... very easy stem plant! It's Anacharis!!! You should have very good luck with this one, but don't be surprised if the original leaves get a bit uggy - just leave them alone and watch for new growth off of the main stem :) Very pretty! One of my favorites - first plant I had and I haven't killed it yet :)

LOL! Yeah, sorry. . . more specifics, it worked for ME in my10g - but I have the 2 screw-in type bulbs. It also did well in my 5g tall. . . I pretty much have found that in lower lighting it grows very thin and more leggy, while what I see in your tank is how it behaves when it's grown under very bright lighting. So I think it prefers the brighter light, but does okay in dimmer conditions. It can also float, but I've found that it has a very thick stalk while in its higher-lighting form. If the light is too dim for it, it turns into something a *bit* more like Hornwort, stem-wise.

if ANY of that made sense, lol! Sorry - I'm half-asleep!

Yes Jes Thanks that explains why some of the stems are thicker then others.

My daughter and I went to walmart about 9:30 tonight and I stopped to look at their fish section. My daughter spotted the Spongebob characters and I ended up getting Sandy for her. LoL

I also picked up some Tiger lily bulbs that I think are duds as they want to float. So I will see but every bulb I have gotten that floated didn't sprout. I also got some Aponogeton bulbs. Has anyone gotten these before??

I thought about grouping them together but being a stem plant I didn't know if it would grow that way with my lights.
