This is my Puffer tank. Its a 29 gallon tank that is a little over half way full of water due to some plants I am trying to grow emersed.
Yes that's an Angelfish. I will get to that in a moment.
First some pics of the plants.
From left to right
Crypt Wendtii "red", Java moss, a dwarf sword (forgot the actual name), some more Java moss, and a small peace lily (I grew one of these years ago in a frog tank once. It gets huge yes I know.)
My Dwarf Sagittaria that is taken forever to grow!
Dwarf water lettuce
My different Anubias.
Some more Anubias. I really like Anubias so I have some different types.
Finally This last pic is of my 55 gallon before it failed.
This is the tank I had 5 beautiful Angelfish in. Fungus exploded in it from some wood and killed all but the one Angel you see in my puffer tank. I put it in that tank as it is the only other tank I have running. I torn down my 55 to redo it with the hopes to getting it back up and running so I could move my Angel back. Well I decided it was going to be more work then I can take on right now plus funds are a little low. So I have decided that the 55 is going to be down until after the Holidays and probably till spring. So I am going to re-home the Angel as its not in a big enough tank for it.
P.s. Sorry for bad pics!
So the lights are on this morning and the lil bowl is looking clear again. YAY!!
It got a good cleaning last time. Took all the plants out rinsed them off laid them to the side. The I took the bowl outside rinsed out the sand. Then used vinegar on the bowl to clean it really well just in case. The glass wasn't dirty but I just wanted to make sure. Then I got new sand that I already had laying around and rinsed it really really well. Then put the bowl back together and got something like this...
Its a lil empty looking but hopefully the plants will grow some.
Now for the rest of the tanks on that stand (total of 3)
The Puffer tank..
The Frogbit roots that have taken off. Normally I can't get the roots to grow like this in my tanks. Chocking this up to the new lights or brighter lights.
My Sunset Hygro that's starting to turn pink finally..
Looking really nice, now! Love the tanks, and the lil' bowl - glad that's all fixed up, hope it stays, and those plants grow and grow! The setup is so fun with the three under one light.
OOH! THAT CAT!!! Cracks me UP, but so NAUGHTY!!! I'm terrified of cats, so glad mine was trained early to stay off the tanks. . . hoping he doesn't forget! ESPECIALLY now that I have a glass hood on one!
Your tanks all look great! I love that fluffy hornwort bunch in the Betta tank , sooo pretty. And He's little Puffy Paradise is just perfect! How are the stemmies doing in that pretty bowl? Everything there seems to be enjoying the higher lights (including the kitty!)
The 29 looks good, too, those stemmies look so happy in there, and the D.Sag is spreading!!!
. . . can't find any fishies, tho! Time for a video??!! I need my nano fix, and of course, I have to HAVE to get a glimpse of little He!
DUDE! Shush! You got some EXCELLENT shots in here! But I'll be SURE to let you know next time I find myself in. . . the middle of nowhere. Me and my cam will come and visit!
I LOVE the apple snail pic, they have the sweetest faces! So neat to see her - the momma that started it all. Some of those baby snails are living in my tanks right now! Izzy has some too, right? Love it!
And your Betta! Great shot. . . I feel like I declared him Valentine when he started turning pink, lol, but then I thought you said you were going to ask you little one what to name him! OR maybe I imagined all that. O.O My girls always want to name EVERYTHING cutie, or princess something. ha. . .
*SQUEEEEEEEEE* I SEEEE HEEEEE!!!!! That might be the best shot you've ever gotten of him. OMG CUUUUTE! I love the roots in this tank. Just amazing. . .
You don't need me to take pictures, but at least I can send woobie lotuses over! It looks like it's doing well, I hope it keeps going! We've both had such a terrible time with Red Tiger's, so far this one (Nymphaea pubescens?) has been doing good in my tank *fingers crossed* that we both have success with this kind. . .
The 29 looks good, the BABIES look WONDERFUL!!! Love love love those tinyfish! Sparrow Rassies are just the sweetest, and those tiny little Cories. . . *GRINS* The blue/green/grey mystery snails are my faves. Moved one of your babies with that coloration into my 55 the other day!
Poor crypts looks like they're coming back now? I hope so, they'll be beautiful in there when they do.
Really like the driftwood in the corner. The fern looks fantastic there. . . and that anubias is pretty, pretty. . .^_^
Your betta is stunninggg! HM?
that pea puffer is sooo cute~ does he take any non- live foods? I want one, but I cant keep live foods on a daily basis TAT
My puffer will take frozen bloodworms but he didn't when I first got him. My wife and I had to train him to take them. If you get one and its a juvenile it most certainly will not take the frozen from the get go but an adult may. Black worm culture are really simple and maintenance free.
The betta is a double tail HM I believe. His tail use to be a lil fuller but I think he keeps nipping at it. He also use to be solid white too. Posted via Mobile Device
John! Come take pictures of my tiny fish! You've obviously got the hang of it. Come on man i got beer and cigarettes! (you can watch me drink and smoke while you're taking pics )
Adding extra lighting helps increase the shutter speed i usually bring in an extra light or two if I'm trying to snap something quick on its fins with my camera!
haha! I've always failed at keeping journals. . . *sighs*
But you? You're great at journaling - and REALLY great at fishkeeping!
Your tanks are BEAUTIFUL, truly. And not just because they're filled with pretty growing greenish things, but because you take such good care of the babies that live there. Makes me so happy to see them, always. *happysmiles*
He's laying in the bottom of the tank and has a sunken in belly! He won't swim or eat! :-(
He's like 3-4 years old soo he is close to the end of their lifespan if I am remembering right. Hope he makes it thro the night!
