This is my Puffer tank. Its a 29 gallon tank that is a little over half way full of water due to some plants I am trying to grow emersed.
Yes that's an Angelfish. I will get to that in a moment.
First some pics of the plants.
From left to right
Crypt Wendtii "red", Java moss, a dwarf sword (forgot the actual name), some more Java moss, and a small peace lily (I grew one of these years ago in a frog tank once. It gets huge yes I know.)
My Dwarf Sagittaria that is taken forever to grow!
Dwarf water lettuce
My different Anubias.
Some more Anubias. I really like Anubias so I have some different types.
Finally This last pic is of my 55 gallon before it failed.
This is the tank I had 5 beautiful Angelfish in. Fungus exploded in it from some wood and killed all but the one Angel you see in my puffer tank. I put it in that tank as it is the only other tank I have running. I torn down my 55 to redo it with the hopes to getting it back up and running so I could move my Angel back. Well I decided it was going to be more work then I can take on right now plus funds are a little low. So I have decided that the 55 is going to be down until after the Holidays and probably till spring. So I am going to re-home the Angel as its not in a big enough tank for it.
P.s. Sorry for bad pics!
Umm $10 which would include shipping ...... that sound like a good price. I have no clue what the going price is for that stuff is?? Posted via Mobile Device
Here a question if someone cares to take a stab at it.
What happens if you put too many root tabs in the substrate?? The reason I ask is I noticed I had about 6 in that tank before I tore it apart and re-did it. I was wondering if that's where some of my problems were coming from. I didn't realize I had soo many in there! I am wondering if that was what was causing my aglae problem ok the glass near the substrate??
Um, I would imagine too many root tabs could leak nutrients into the water and give you the algae problem. I've never had experience with it myself but it sounds logical.
1st. I know I have been slacking lately on my updates or being in here in general! Sorry I have been crazy busy and my wife Is or I should say we are having some family issues (nothing between her and I). So I haven't had much time for anything but work (when I can) and taken care of her and our daughter.
2nd my poor fish have been neglected here lately and they have gone 2 weeks without a water change. My air pump broke in my 10 gallon and Iost a Cory in the process (not sure it was related?) I finally got a water change done tonight on 2 of my tanks and even got them moved to a stand of their own. I still have to do a water change in my puffer tank and have to get the house cleaned up (i dont have to clean but I plan on it soo my wife doesnt have to come tomorrow to a dirty house!) all while keeping an eye on my daughter as my wife isn't here tonight. I don't know how you women with kid(s) do it!
3nd. I plan on shooting a video of my tanks tonight pending my daughters mood and if I can get her to go to bed at a decent hour. LoL Posted via Mobile Device
Sorry for the late reply. I'm on vacation at the beach with the whole family. Your new arrangement looks great!!! I love the two tanks next to each other on the table.
I hope you guys can get through the tough times. They really suck but you gotta have the bad times to make the good times even better.
*HUGS*
I know the feeling, I've been slacking off on updates (and everything in internetland) lately, too. Summer comes, family issues happen - I hear ya. Miss you, and your gorgeous tanks!!!
I know I told you this already, but OH! OH! OH!!!! The new/bigger/rescaped tanks are simply BEAUTIFUL!!! They all look lovely. I'm swooning over here!!!
Those little !'s are colouring up so well *luffs* Your D.Sag is looking fantastic, Java ferns, too. . . so, so pretty!!! ^.^ And lil' He. . . you know. He is totally my hero! I love that lil' fishy. Glad to see he's settling into his new, and beautifulER, home so well. That they ALL are settling in so well. Saw a tank-full of baby Puffs the other day at the shop, and ohhhhh my. One day, man. One day I WILL keep one! The Betta looks happy in there, too - that fish needs a name. Ask your daughter, she'll think of one if you haven't named him already, lol. . . and those snails. heehee. Love it. You must have had SO MANY PLANTS squashed into that 10g community before, cuz' the 29 doesn't look empty at al, lol. And the roots on those floaters!!!? *jealous*
Your tanks are always beautiful - great job, and thanks for the update (sorry to have missed responding to so many lately - I read them, tho!)
Jes none of the plants in the 29 came from the 10 gallon. I actually took some out of the 29 too. The only plants I added to the 29 was Frogbit from my outdoor tub. Those are the ones with the long roots.
The plants that are in the 10 gallon now are what was there already minus the crypts since those stupid plants melted!!! : (
It looks great, John! I can't wait to hear how it works out for you with the higher lighting in those tanks. I hope they grow, grow, grow. . . Love the setup with the lil' bowl in the middle. SO cute!
The betta tank seems alright too with it. Through my LiL bowl isn't doing good for whatever reason. : (
I gotta clean it out completely I think. Its got some really nasty water in it! O.O I don't really understand as it was clear till I added plants. Now its not like cloudy but it has some kind of scum on the surface and just looks nasty and doesn't smelll too go either .
Its a multi purpose sand. That has been in there for awhile with no issue.
Problem might have can from me disturbing the substrate?? Posted via Mobile Device
