Soooo I got my drs f&s order. I like the driftwood, its long and pretty- I stuck my anubias in there, and a java fern! I hope it turns out.

Sponge filter is HUGE- I don't know if I'll need two hydro V of that size. We'll see though.

My versatops are a little disappointing. They look great but don't fit perfectly- probably because my tank is tetra and the tops are aqueon. I'm just going to buy a glass cutter next payday, and make it fit my tank. For now I stuck a piece of cardboard in the middle to hold things up.

Last thing I got was the pair of planting forceps. Haven't had use for it yet!

Annd pics later! I'm getting even more excited.

oooo!
More presents! Nice!
To me, it is better to have more filtration than to have "just enough". I thought the versa tops were supposed to be pretty compatible. Are you sure you didn't get the one that is made for 75 gallons and not the other one? There's 2 48" ones listed on dr fosters. Also, can you just trim the plastic flip in the back? Or is it that long?

Its too long left to right. I just selected the one it said to get for 55 gallons (so two 24" tops). I'm sure I can figure it out.

The V is rated for 125 and the III is for 40. I am probably good for now at least, probably get another V someday.

hm
Such a shame. It would be annoying to have to cut the glass :( Worries me that theirs won't fit my tank. I did double check the measurements and it might be a 1/4 of an inch too short side to side. :/

I wasn't aware that sponge filters can go that high. I always see people using the canisters with larger tanks. I wonder why I hardly ever see the sponges being used.

Idk, I think they're pretty underrated. And this way everything is IN my tank, don't need to worry about things outside the tank that someone would inevitably kick over.

I want to hunt more gourami down like NAO! But my wallet needs a break. More fishies next weeeek! Oh and a couple good sized swords I'm thinking.

Don't you wish you were rich? lol
If we were rich, we'd probably go poor feeding our aquarium habit. LOL

Great thing about vfish tanks is that you don't need a TON of money to have a great one (or seven).

Very true!

I think the reason my tops are too long is because my tank is tetra and the versa tops are aqueon, ahhhh well. Really hope I can fix it without too much trouble!
