You are NOT!

I'm fairly positive that my rams hold a running dialogue on what's going on outside of their tank. . .I don't really see it so much as depicted on Nemo, though. . . more like Monty Python's Meaning of Life. All five of them pay very close attention to the world outside their glass box and react to different people in different ways. I can only wonder what their impression of us might be, but can say with a fair amount of certainty that they harbor an intense dislike for helium balloons. . . . I'm also fairly convinced that the loaches regard themselves as above (or beneath?) it all, and couldn't be bothered by the aspects of life that don't apply to them directly -I suspect they mock the Rams on a continuous basis. While the JellyBean Brigade view our world with disdain and a slight sprinkling of paranoia. . .and would very much prefer that it didn't exist.

LOL! I love you for posting Monty Python! I do imagine my fish talk to each other sometimes. Goldfish are all about food... whether it's asking me for it or squabbling over it. The gourami are all about breeding. The tetra are most concerned with being shiny. And those shrimp just want everything as clean as can be (boy, they must have a problem with my room!)

You step away for a couple of days and come back and... well.

I think Amano shrimp are more concerned with world domination than any fish will ever be. Horrible little (big compared to my betta) buggers! No worries though... they're imprisoned in a white breeder net so they can no longer attack the fish

I imagine Red has some very interesting conversations with himself about me and my antics. "She's on the computer again... when is it feeding time? Maybe if I follow her around she'll pay attention to me... OI! WOMAN! FOOD?! No...? Fine."

Eventually I'll start hearing "GET BACK IN THE KITCHEN!"...

They look so cute and happy and friendly and playful from afar but once you get to know them... fish are just mean...

I love Fishgeeks. . .We know what our fish are thinking about, for sure! ^_^

So here's a video of my loachy babies. I can't seem to focus on cleaning up my computer files. . . I just get distracted by my tank, and end up creating NEW ones! *giggle*

I've slowly been making changes to the right side of Becoming, just shifting things to open it up a bit more for viewing, and trying to incorporate all of the aspects that the loaches like so much about caves and plants and roots and rocks - They really love to congregate here! This video was taken at their most loachy time of the evening - a bit past dinner and half till lights-out Believe it or not, a decent amount of movement was lost in the shadows, lol. Loaches are awesome!

I'm trying to find the right plant to attach to the top of this rock to provide separation for the two rams that live there - one in front and one behind. Everyone's territory got shuffled in the last spawning, Alice and Jab ended up at the opposite end of the tank, and would appreciate a little bit more cover there, I think. . . I've also been trying to get (and keep) height in this tank since day one. . . maybe I can cheat by using the rock's height to my advantage!

Squiggles and squee!!! I just love your little stripy guys! And we got some froggy zen in there, too.

As for giving more barriers, I'd just stick another tall piece of driftwood in there and attach anubias or something. Can't have too much driftwood in a tank like that, and there is no such thing as too much anubias! ;)

Three cheers for Manzanita, and all of the lovely things you can't have too many of in tanks! I agree, there is always room for more driftwood with plants to stick to it!

I think the term you're looking for is bottom feeders.
