EGGIES! YAY! So exciting :D

Is it just me or did this happen a lot faster than the previous two times? I'm SO HAPPY they're trying again, it's just so beautiful!

Spring must be in the air this morning I caught my parkinsoni Rainbows in the plants have a sexy time I always thought I had 2 males but one is smaller and not as colorful usually there is more of a difference in rainbows but im pretty sure its hard for rainbows to actually produce fry

OOH! Melanotaenia parkinsoni??? I love those. Gorgeous fish. . . you really have to re-start your tank log! You know I'll follow! I love watching other people's tanks grow. :) I've read that it's difficult to rear the fry, because of their size. You could always try to do a culture? Brine shrimp are easy enough (still have to try for myself, this weekend, I think), vinegar eels might be a good size?

Almost time to uncover the tank. . . hope I still have eggs! The suspense is killing me. . .

Golden Pearls from Kensfish will work for bow fry. Once they are big enough to take BBS(usually after the yolksac is used up) they do very well on that. If the bows lay eggs in plants, move the plant to a separate tank and let the fry hatch there. No power filters!! Use a sponge filter with a low air setting. Water changes everyday after the fry start growing are necessary to rear them.
