Thanks for the tips, BWG. . . all of my tanks have been used. . . but already in my basement, lol! I've never actually bought one before. Used is kind of nerve-wracking. I've always hoped to get a new one, but the expense involved. . . yeah, I'll take used!

Just spoke to my cousin - the dude with the carpeted van, lol. He said he'd be willing to run down TONIGHT (or whenever) and get it, so at least the problem of transportation is taken care of. The only problem with that would be that I wouldn't be there in person to inspect it. We'll have to see, I haven't heard back again from the seller since I asked them when a good time for pickup would be - really hoping they come through. The concept of being so close to HAVING the 125 I've been mooning over for so long is tough to wrap my brain around! Still trying not to get my hopes up - it's kind of hard, though!

EEEEEEEE! I'm so excited for you! I understand where you're coming from, it can be pretty scary buying a used tank, but sometimes the prices are just irresistible!

The only thing I can recommend about the 'wood' trim on the tank itself is to paint it black and then stain the stand. I hope this works out! SO exciting! A lot sooner than I thought too ;)

Good thought on painting, Jen. Another possibility. . . I'll see what the man thinks. All of my other tanks have always had the same faux wood trim. I don't LIKE it, particularity, but I'm used to it. I don't notice it so much, since I'm looking at what's going on inside!

Thanks for the hopes, guys! Fingers firmly crossed. I wish she would respond RIGHT NOW! LOL! I'm being so impatient!

ETA: I wasn't expecting it so soon, either! We shall see what happens!

Eeee!!! I missed this earlier!!! I do hope you can get it AND it's in good condition. Re-sealing might be a PITA but for what you will save I think it's worth it.

Do keep us informed!

Imagine the cost of the tahitan moon sand for the tank.

Resealing was the worst experience of my life.
You might find it fun though!

Gah! Yes, Lymp - you did have a tough time with the resealing, I remember that. And black! I think I'll put my husband in charge of that operation . . . seems like the kind of thing I could call 'MAN WORK!' on. . . maybe?

TMS is expensive! So is everything else aquarium related. It will take me a while to get this up and running, but I'll be so excited just to have the tank and stand! That's the BIGGIE, y'know? Everything else can be done piecemeal. A bag of sand a month, lol!

Still no word back from the seller. I got two E-mails from her within 2 hours, then nothing. Frustrating, but hopefully I'll hear something tomorrow!

Thanks for the wishes, guys - I really hope I get it!!! Keep those fingers crossed for me!

My fingers are starting to cramp being in this position so long ;) Might have to resort to crossing my toes.

Hehe yes.
But mind you I was working on it in the summer sun for six hours. Sitting inside it (tanks heat up super fast). :p
