I'd love to see a study done on the Pangio loaches, too. Sadly it doesn't look like that will happen any time soon. (And I stink at genetics lol!!) I stopped caring about the exact species, too. They're squirmy and cute and wiggly, and I luff them.

So now you've got 3 species of Pangio! The two stripey ones and the brown one! (Lord knows what species he is!)

THIS cracked me up!

3... at least... lol! And I was SO DETERMINED to keep only ONE TYPE!!! Heehee. I'm pretty sure that the little dark one is Pangio oblonga, but time will tell on him, too! It'd be funny if he ended up being something entirely different! As far as the tiny guys are concerned, DWARF LOACHES!!?? Well I just think that's fantastic!!! *I* have never seen these guys before. Wonder how common they are, aside from the random one accidentally tossed in?

Man, those are some attractive loaches!

The pics are amazingly clear. We need to get a new camera and NEVER let Charlie near it.

Thank you, dear. . .they really are pretty little things! HARD to capture on camera, though - entirely too squirmy and small! Why is it that nobody EVER gives the PHOTOGRAPHER credit! Only the camera!!! *HARUMPH* (kidding)

YOU have a great VIDEO cam, tho - I wish I had one of those. . .trade ya? ;)

My daughter got a camera when she was three, she's five (and a half) now - still uses it and hasn't managed to break it despite her best attempts. It's by V-Tech, and DEFINITELY worth every penny. It has cool games, plays music, and she can edit her pics, or shoot with cool frames and silly effects. You should look into one, or *ahem* Santa, perhaps?

I didn't mean to imply your camera did all the work, lol. Mine is just wrecked. It looks good on screen, but the pics turn out dark. Even with a new camera, I'm not the best photographer and never get pics that look as good as yours.

It's the same one I use for videos, for some reason videos still turn out. Unless I zoom on videos, then there are two little marks that appear in the middle of the video.

Charlie has one of those cameras. He broke "right" on the D-Pad so her can't really play the games, but he never did anyway. He got it for his third birthday. He still won't leave ours alone.

The other day he woke up before us and came downstairs to wreak havoc, instead of coming in our room. Camera was on, a bunch of black photos. He said he was taking pictures of the fish, lol.

ROFL! I was totally teasing you, just for the record

Figures that he'd still want the 'real' camera. Maybe. . . after all of the Christmas money is spent, you can get a new camera in the new year, and give HIM the old one - but *pretend* that he still can't have it - that way he'll still want that one! Oh my. . . kids!!! I don't believe he managed to break the V-tech, but hey! It still works! Those things are TOUGH, but *I* have girls, lol. Boys are a bit rougher, as a general rule! Don't you love it when the kids wake up with the realization that there isn't anyone around to tell them "NO" LOL! Too bad none of the fishy pics turned out. I wonder if there is some way to change the settings to keep them from being so dim? Hrm... what kind of camera is it?

It's an old Panasonic DMC LZ8

We have tried every setting (I think) It has been like this for a year or more.

The mall collapsed in the small town Jodie is from, the parking on the roof caved in and a car dropped a couple of floors. Her dad is working cleaning out debris, and the Zellers is selling everything for next to nothing to the cleaning crew. He got a new TV, and apparently a camera for us. Jodie thinks they said it was for Charlie, but if it is half decent, it will be ours, and he can have the panasonic.

The reason we shoot so many videos is because that turns out so much better than the photos.

Oh, and Charlie can break any toy. It's a knack he has.

Oooh, that'd be fantastic if it were a camera that you could use!!! THAT is the way to shop, lol! Personally, I kind of prefer videos of tanks - at least when they're clear. You really don't get a good idea of a tank without that movement.

My camera is a very old Nikkon D50 SLR, it fails to work half the time. I've literally taken tens of thousands of pictures on it over the years. It's digital, but from the first generation they released - I *think* I've had it since 2005. Shoot in manual most of the time, anyway, but DEFINITELY need an upgrade. I'd love to see what I could do with the amazing cameras they're coming out with now (most of which have decent video cams built in). SO many pixels, so little time :D Gotta start saving my pennies and starving the children - and stop playing with fish! ;)

I should say, sadly two people died when the mall collapsed, so we're not totally dancing for joy for the deals. And now the town has no store because everything was in the mall. Know more bargain shop or zellers or dollar store. And Zellers was the only "department" store there. They're like a crappy KMart.

So they have nowhere to buy things we take for granted, like underwear or winter clothes. The next closest store is an hour away and they only has a Giant Tiger, which is like a bargain shop. We shop there, but the zippers on the clothes last days or weeks, not months.

Thank God we live in civilization. Jodie's family are hicks.

So did you determine that is the regular color for those loaches? I felt bad saying how good they looked when I read they might be bruised.

Matt, I'm sorry to hear of the mall collapse, but gotta look for the silver linings in everything, right? Oh and I've heard of a waterproof and shock proof camera made by Nikon. Maybe that will withstand Charlie?
