What a nightmare! I hope your tiny loaches make it. Do you regularly shop at that store, or were you there just because they were the only place that had the loaches?

Yeah, it was awful... the remaining 5 seem to be doing well thus far - I've managed to lose them ALL in a 3g tank. SOOOO small! I built hides in so that I can see them, but they *think* they're hiding. So cute. . . I REALLY hope they come through okay now they're in good hands.

Thanks, Fish - no, I don't normally shop there. ALL of our good LFS have closed down over the last year, and the chain stores - mostly PetSmart - is now my best option for buying fish, sucks. But they only carry the black loaches, and I've been searching for more of the striped ones to up my shoal for ages now. I called this shop a few months ago, and they said they'd been having trouble getting them in, and would call me if/when they did. At least they called. . . maybe the *actual* owner is better, but I doubt it - and I won't be going back. We NEED a good shop *sigh*

I wish you and them the best of luck. It's been such a bad year I hope it ends with winter. =( I've heard of loaches and platies having some nasty problems this year, Dalmation and Creamsicle mollies seem to be getting slapped a lot too...some types of cories as well. Haven't heard any issues with the peppered cories yet though.

One of my blue platies got Ich again! I thought I got rid of that two months ago. =-= I don't think she'll pull through, but she DOES look better after treatment, the rest of the fish either have no signs of it, or very, very few. =( Her and her sister are pregnant though, so I'm worried. I've only seen a case this bad once, and it happened overnight last night and that time. T_T Said last case that was this bad, my entire tank got wiped out before I could even get meds! But I got it this time. I wont hold out hope though, it's bad, but I admit she looks better already so maybe she'll be ok. The added stress from my girls being pregnant is what I'm worried about. Both my boys look fit as fiddles. >_>; So do my two juvenile red platy and young bumblebee. Not a spot on them, but that doesn't mean they aren't infected. x.x

I got lucky with my Dalmation Lyretails. I was told by the shop they may be beautiful and LOOK great, but they were losing entire batches at once. I took the chance and put them in QT and they pulled through with very light issues. If I recall correctly, my male, that really pretty one I showed you, he got something nasty and ended up with pop-eye and weirdness, but he got through after a few days with warmer water, salt and pimafix. =) He looked fine when I bought him, the next day he had that messed up eye I couldn't figure out if his girl injured him or not. x.x Well, I couldn't be happier with that guy though! I'm glad he didn't die, he's the prettiest Dalmation I've ever laid eyes on.
If there ARE any problems, I hope you get some good luck as well. You're very watchful, so I think those loaches will do just fine with you!

Sorry to here about your issues with Ick Sylver. I recently went through it, and it is depressing and stressful.

They're just so CUTE! I had to take a video for you guys - even though my camera isn't the best at this sort of thing. Silly, squirmy things. . . if you look closely, you can see #5 hiding in the cave. S/he is just a bit longer - closer to the 1.5 inch mark, and too big for such ridiculous behavior

Loopy Loachlings - YouTube

Tiny as they are, I might have to move them into the 29g after all! I thought this tank would be more than enough space for them to QT in since they're soooooooo small, but they might need more room to get their wiggles out!!!
