Ahaha! I keep thinking about getting some new pics, the tank looks completely different. I had to take out a few of the lake plants that weren't doing so great. The lily actually did pretty well, but the lily pads had a hard time staying upright in the current so I pulled it.

Also switched the driftwood and moved a few plants's a bit of a new tank. Plus the LFS got new plants in and I grabbed those up.

The baby loaches are doing awesome! All four babies now come out on a regular basis with the adults. I have noticed something a bit weird though with them. The brave one who came out first, (I named him Brave, at least while I can tell a difference) is about twice the thickness of the other three, yet the same length. He's also much darker, while the others are still quite pale/pink-ish. They're all active though and swim the tank equally though, so I really have no idea. I'll have to try and get a video comparison, the difference between them is odd.

I also got another crypt >:D It's a Lucens, and it's so pretty. Such a shame it takes six months to get established...

I'll try and get some video tomorrow :p And I might head down to the lake and get a few shots of it, to show you guys.

Sounds like things are going great over there! Can't wait to see the new and improved 'scape!

Also... loach... weirdness. It really could be that he's older than the others, and has come into his color more. Even if not - you know. . . the FIVE I have all look COMPLETELY different. markings-wise, anyway. Some of 'em are mostly brown, while others look more orange with bands. Maybe it's a combination of the two? I'm kind of not ruling out that you could *possibly* have some of the dwarfs mixed into that shipment, lol. The pic you posed of - I guess it WAS Brave - was for sure spot-on Kuhli, but the one when they were in the bag really has me guessing! Of course, it's entirely possible that they could be something else entirely. It's a HUGE problem with the eel-like loaches - the species are always getting mixed up. Seriously - I'm NOT making it up! Have you gone over to . . .um. . .that loach forum (not supposed to post a link, lol) and looked through their loach profiles? WHATEVER they are, they're cute - and I'm glad to hear that they're doing well under your care!

Don't believe the hype. . . I bet that pretty lil' baby gets going in a month or so! Even if it does take 6 months, for a crypt - it's TOTALLY worth the wait, imho - I fall more in love with Crypts every single day. The types I have are hands-down my favorite tank plants. Ever. *nods* Truly a love affair with those pretty plants - I want to collect 'em ALL! Totally jealous of your new addition.

So... that was such a teaser post! I NEED MORE! You've been holding out on us, darling! It must stop!
Get to snappin' *giggle* But take your tiiiiime, I've got abotu 80 gallons of water or so to change tonight *sigh*

I think I saw a post from you somewhere about different loach species and I looked them up, and I'm blown away at the's crazy how many different ones there are. The major difference besides the paleness that I'm seeing in the three is they also look a bit more...stripey. But it could also be because of their size, I really need to get a video up and show some of the differences.

I'm hoping it does well! Poor thing was crammed in that pot. There were a bunch of babies though, so I was able to split the one plant into like six, which was awesome. They seem to be doing well so far, although my anubias looks like poo. It hates me.

I'm hoping to get my hands on some more Wendtii, I'm so impatient waiting for the babies I split from the mother to grow.

I also got some "giant microsword", which is...interesting. It was also crammed in the pot. It says it needs high light, but I know for a fact it was in the LFS's tank for about a month, and he never even has a light on in it. So I'm hoping it will do well. The roots were gross though, the tank it came from must have been dirted or something.

Ugh I do not envy you on that. I only do about 35 gallons every water change (15 gallons in my tank, 20 in my moms), and even then it's a bit of a pain. Not as bad as it used to be though, it used to take me ten minutes just to get the siphon working. I'm a total pro at that now >:p

I am also wondering if the three are dwarfs, but their stripes aren't regular like yours. They're wiggly and all over the place. It's just their tummies and faces are so pink, compared to everyone else. Brave looks like the black sheep when he's with them, but he looks identical to my adults, minus the whole size issue haha.

If you insist... :P
It's ten at night here though, so no tank lights on. I promise I'll put up some photos and/or a video tomorrow. I promise.

Although, Toby might star in one of the pictures, so look out for that ;D

The puppy we temporarily have until we can find him a good home. I named him Toby (because I am obsessed with the movie Labyrinth (and David Bowie)), and he's flippin' adorable.

It's so pretty! I really do love it, the only thing I don't like about crypts are their root systems...they're a pain to plant for me, haha.

Ehehe, you can't resist loach updates!
