If you look very close, you can almost see The Dempsey under the Driftwood. The Synodontis Multipunctatus, Uses the half pipe Which is terra cotta roofing tile and is extremely shy when lights are on . Normally I do not light the tank except during maint. It receives light from south facing window.
The tank is in transistion at the moment For I had to remove the sand substrate. It proved to be a bad choice. The Discus I kept enjoyed the sand for it made foraging much easier. The Dempsey and Synodontis however do much rooting around and food and poop that would normally remain on the surface,,was getting buried under the sand.
I have a ton of slate and flagstone that I 'm gonna place in the tank soon as it's done soaking in bleach and water solution.
