Well that's how it started. Now I think they can actually breed them in a way but I'm not too sure. All I know is that you don't get danios showing like partial traits when you have interbreeding. I'm not really interested in breeding them either. I just feel so bad that poor glow-fish is all alone. He should be in a school.

He should be, yes . . . but he seems happy enough to me? Doesn't look stressed, though I'm sure he could be happier with more of his kind. A friend of mine has 5 glofish adults, and they spawn literally EVERY TIME she does a water change. They do breed true to their coloration, and she has hundreds of itty bitty GloFish fry to prove it. The problem is that she can't sell them, because the fish is trademarked, branded, and copyrighted - sale but through their own company is prohibited. *shakes head* Humans are stupid, I swear!

Yes they are genetically modified so they are illegal to sell.
Why not get some more glofish though? There was a thread on here about glofish and regular danios- and one or the other was being cruel to it's opposites. Though there really is no logic behind that. o-o

taking a break from fish-keeping.
3 lovely male betta still keep me company.

Well just because an animal doesn't look stressed doesn't mean it isn't. I know they are supposed to be in a shoal and he doesn't have that so there must be some stress involved.

Not to be mean but Little Brave the glow-fish is a little eye sore in the 75 gallon tank. The tank is set up to mimic something more natural...and at times that little glow-fish is bothersome visually. I don't want anymore radically colored fish in the tank. So if I get him a shoal it will be more natural looking tank-mates.

A bad accident. I had a tank set up in my work room, and for weeks the temp outside was so cool that the inside room temp was perfect. I went out for a little bit and it was not supposed to be warm. Well it got warm, the room overheated and the tank got too hot. Killed all but 3 of the fish and I relocated them to the big tank to give them a chance. Brave Red is all that is left since illness took the other two.

Since then he's been a trooper.

Just an update I've added 3 regular Zebra Danios to the 75 gallon and already the Glow-Fish is schooling with them. I will be keeping an eye out to see how it all pans out.

I went out to a convention. Now I've got to get my tank happy again since I was to wiped to do a water change when I got back for a few days. I will try to have video tomorrow when the three new ones settle down. Little Brave was cute, the moment the bag went in he kept trying to school with them. They appear to accept him for now.
