LOL! You make it too easy, hon ;)

Yes, Rams can be very fussy little things, neh? I just think they're the neatest fish ever (of course... I have a pretty limited range of fish-keeping experience as of yet, heehee)

Good luck getting that light in - surprised it wasn't delivered already this afternoon! *grumbles*

I got the lights in the mail today, the mail man dropped them off on the back yard on our deck so I had no idea they arrived HAHAHA. I went back there and got the stuff out. Everything is fine except one of the 46″ bulbs came broken. I had to drive 25 mins to a PetCo that had this lamp in store so I wouldn’t have to wait ANOTHER week to get those bulbs. They did an even exchange (I saved almost like $40 ordering offline because it was like $10 more for each bulb at the store).

Here is what the 29 looks like with the two 23W CFL bulbs on them, i turned the exposure down on the camera because it’s so bright! Better pictures to come later:

Here is a picture of the 75. This tank is SO bright now. I had to also turn the exposure down on this one.

In the video you can REALLY see the difference the lights make because well its a video and I didn’t mess with anything. I explain a lot in the videos. If you have any questions.

Looking great, nice work. I like both aquascapes, and they will as always get better and better as the plants grow in.

75 and 29 Update Ė 12 New Harlequin Rasboras

I will sing in the next one just for your Olympia haaha lol

I got a used car about a week ago, a 2000 Saturn SL with about 156k miles on it. Manual. That day I went to Congressional Aquarium and purchased 12 Harlequin Rasboras who had been QTíed in their tanks for 2 weeks and looked good, with them I also got 10 Kuhli Loaches. If you consider that I only have a 10 gallon quarantine, all these fish would not be able to go into the same tank.

Therefore I decided to put the kind of pre-quarantined rasboras directly into the 29 which only had 6 rasboras and a gourami. I thought, hey why not. Luckily *knocks on wood* so far everything in this tank has gone magically. The day after I put them in they were matting, never seen that one with the rasboras before. Good sign. Today they look much bigger, colorful and healthier; I saw a pair of them swimming together mating again.

On another note the Kuhli Loaches didnít go so well, not at all actually. The day after I got them one died and I took him back to the pet store. Ok, one dies and I donít know why. They were eating and I got him replaced. The next day another one dies, the day after 2 more and then the next day 3 more die. So now I have only four live Kuhli Loaches swimming around after I just bought 10. I thought to myself, there is no way. The water was perfect. I lowered the pH to 6.8 so they could deal with the change better. So I called Congressional Aquarium and talked to the guy who actually sold me the fish (luckily). He told me the day after I got that first one that died replaced, their Kuhli Tank crashed and out of no where 60% of them died JUST like with mine. He saved 40% of them with heavy medication. He then told me that I could bring them back to the store and get a full refund and then some. I must say that at least they handled that right because I KNOW the tank was perfect for them. Hopefully in the near future after that quarantine tank settles from what ever that was I can give them another try. The Bolivian ram who was in there is fine and so is the neon tetra. The Bolivian ram is currently living in that tank, I still donít know what to do about him.

In both the 75 and the 29, but especially in the 75 the plants are really growing. The Dwarf Sag is really taking off. It has sent many runners everywhere and is just thriving. In both videos I take you through a nice tour of the 75 Gallon and 29 Gallon.

Hey you! I've been wondering how those little Kuhli were doing over there - and the new Rasabora! Glad to hear that the latter are SO happy!!! WONDERFUL!!! Bummer, totally distressing, about the Kuhli, but at least you know that it had nothing to do with you, and it sounds like the shop is really being open and honest about the whole thing, so that's great! The tanks are looking beautiful! Everything is growing in so nicely - YAY!!!

75, 29, 10 and 5 Gallon Update

So you all are gonna have a time with this update here hahaha.

The 75 looks completely different. EVERYTHING has just grown like a mad man on steroids. I have been dosing 3-4 times a week with Flourish Comprehensive and Excel. I've lowered my Excel dose because I have gotten some BB algae. I also had to reduce my light exposure from 10 to 8 hours a day. I just want to get this tank finished and stocked because it feels so empty some times. The cories are the life of the tank, I want more fish!

They algae is slowly going away because my fish are eating it! Thank god!

Here is the tank though in all its glory....although the white balance is a little off urgh!

Here is a decent video of the tank. You get to see more of the real colors...although lower quality hahha

The 29 has been doing good. I also had some BB algae in there on the stem plants in the back right. I did the same thing by lowering the Excel dose and lowering the light exposure to 8 hours a day. The fish have been eating the algae and it's not going away.

The plants have been growing well and I am REALLY glad the hairgrass is taking off. It has sent out many runners already. I feel like this tank should be brighter. It's looking good but I want my Kuhli Loaches for this tank!

The 10 gallon has been through some serious stuff. The Kuhli Loaches problem, then I last night the Neon Tetra died after almost a month now of getting better and worse....he finally gave in :(.

The only fish in the 10 gallon now is Lucas, the Bolivian ram. He is doing alright. He is still pale but he is eating. Here is a shot of him in the QT tank today. You can see I need to clean the tank....

As you can see as I go smaller in my tanks, the less.....clean they are. The 5 gallon is no exception. I left it with my x-girlfriend for a month after I moved out and the filter died. I moved him back here maybe two weeks ago now but I haven't had time to really clean out his tank.

I'm going to take it completely apart and redo everything. He needs it....deserves it. Here is the mess of what the tank looks like now. Warning...the tank is hidden behind mountains of CDs....I have to fit all four of these tanks into my small room....you can imagine...

Oh wow, the 75 is looking magnificent. Good job! I really like how your 29 gallon is turning out too.

I feel so sorry for that poor ram. What are you going to do long term with him?

Also that poor betta, I cannot wait to see how it looks once you re-do it.

Thanks Sang! :D

I'm still a bit iffy on the 29....it's where the plants are placed....I don't want to touch it though. Gonna wait a few more months lol.

Yeah I do too, I don't want to do anything with him for at least another month just to make sure he is ok. After that I am considering a few options....one of which I know some people on here would not approve of.

Option 1: Give chesh my ram lol
Option 2: Get more rams and put him in the 75 with them (this is the one I know people have a problem with)
Option 3: Get a new tank for him.
Option 4: Swap him out with the gourami in the 29.

Yeah, Cornelius (The betta) is actually doing really good. he looks healthy and his fins are just gorgeous right now. It's just the tank is gross. That is the first on my to do list.
