Thanks! My boyfriend and I have changed our mind so much about the fish. So far, in addition to the 5 black skirt tetras, we want to move our 1 dwarf blue gourami and 1 black molly to the 55, and get: 1 long-fin bristlenose pleco, 1 pearl gourami, 6 panda cories.

Well the tank has been cycled for a while and is now fully stocked. 5 long-fin black skirt tetras, 6 panda cories, 1 golden mystery snail, 1 black molly, 1 pearl gourami, and 1 long-fin ancistrus. I've added some more plants (using pfertz). Here are some updated pics:

Thanks so much for the compliments! I'm very relieved to have the tank completed. The pearl gourami is still pretty shy right now, so these are the best pics I could get:

And another one of a couple of the cories: (The java fern doesn't look that great; I'm hoping it will start to look better now that I'm using pfertz fertilizers.)

:)

hay there.
things have come along really well. :)
the gourami looks like a little girl, how big is she ?
i've got pearl gouramis, and i love them so much,
to help with being shy, floating plants will help, makes them feel
secure,so they will hopefully be happier to come out,she may
also be very shy because she is the only one,
:)
