Here is my 55g planted tank at the end of April:

Here it is the 2nd of August:

I have a picture that is not angled, but need to resize it before I can upload to my album.

Here is the black and white "full Monty" view:

For more views/angles, check out my TFK album. Comments and aquascaping suggestions always welcome!

Very nice aquascape, I like the look of the black background on the second picture, helps to make the plants stand out.

I agree with BarbH the black background does give a dramatic statement to the tank. Think I might do that for my 65

The background was really simple. It's cheap solid black fabric purchased from Hobby Lobby, clipped onto the back top of the tank (tank rim) with three really large (1"?) spring clips like you use to clip papers together. You can change the background easily, just buy another color fabric (navy, etc), two minutes later, background changed. There is a problem with reflection since it's not mounted directly to the glass.

I tried microsword but don't have the light (and no CO2) so it has not worked well for me. The Myro is doing really well, I think I have the light balanced just about perfectly for it now. I'm going to try and keep it trimmed as a "taller" foreground plant temporarily. The Rosette swords are doing well, but I have them too spread out, they'd look better grouped I think. I'll let them fill in some more, divide a few of them, and that should address the problem.

Thanks, the right piece is Mopani, I'm hoping to eventually get another piece to replace the bogwood on the left, so the wood texture on both pieces matches.

I still need to clean up my floating plants a little and trim my Rotalia that's reaching the front glass now...
