I wouldn't be worried about the fins on a fish that looked that good. I am not particularly into angels but that is an amazing looking fish in any bodies book and, in my opinon, the shape of the fins only adds to the look of the fish.

That is nice setup you have and a lovely piece of wood on the left (as you look at the tank).

They were all in the tank together, yes, until recently. And they are scalare as far as I know. The bent fins only really bug me because I'm... slightly... OCD...

Thanks for the kind words! :D I actually do not mind that fish much, his colors are beautiful enough not to care about the fins, and his are not as bent as the other one's. The pinoy paraiba is very bent in a weird way. I sort of messed up clipping his fins trying to fix them and now they are growing in a tiny bit funky. They seem to be correcting themselves as time goes on so we will see how it turns out. I haven't posted pics of him recently. It will be interesting to see how they fins turn out as they age, in my opinion.

Got this little guy at petsmart a few days ago :D Hope it's a female and hope it does okay in my semi-hard water and high pH. :/ The other german blue rams I bought have been alive in quarantine for 3 weeks so far

Updates...

I added my siamese algae eater from quarantine! He's gotten to work eating algae almost immediately! It's really amazing. He's getting all the algae that my BN pleco and nerite snails won't eat. I have bad hair (?) algae on the top of my vallisneria that is close to the light. He's making quick work of it! I took a picture so I could compare it to after.... we will see if he actually eats it all. :)

And I finally ordered new light bulbs! will get them in a week or so :D I couldn't decide on a T5HO unit so I just bought some new Life Glo 2 T8s for my 48" and my two 18" fixtures, so I'll have 70 watts of T8 Life glo. My 2x 18" bulbs are extremely old.... and the 48" is a stock 32 watt 8000K bulb and so I'm expecting some nice plant growth hopefully once these are replaced. I also have 2x 24" 24W t5HO 6500K bulbs on top but they are grow lights with no reflectors and seem to give less light than the 18" T8s.... so I may remove them to save electricity and see how things grow... I need stronger lights I think but I couldn't find a good t5HO system that was affordable. :( I want the catalina one but its 150$ and 30$ or so for shipping.... I need one that is longer, like 8" with bulbs spaced 4 inches apart so that it gets all of the floating plants without having to sit way above the tank :/ -rambles-

Beautiful tank, Austin - and such pretty little rams <3
You can tell gender fairly easily by checking their vents, provided they're old enough (looks like they probably are).
Males have a thin vent, angled back toward the anal fin, while the vent on females is thicker, and angled downward for passing eggs. :)
That looks like black brush algae to me, hopefully between the SAE and the new lights, it'll stop being trouble for you!

Keep up the good work!!! ^__^

Thanks Jes :D can you tell the gender of the electric blue one? :3

And he's eaten practically all of that algae already... I had a siamese algae eater a couple years ago and I didn't know they were such good algae eats! I guess that's why I didn't have much algae. :P

Random observation... I added root tabs and have been water column fertilizing regularly... and the new leaves on my sword plant seem to be growing several inches longer than before. :)

Good! Those heavy root feeders definitely do much better for me with root tabs, too - happy to hear they're growing well, and that your little SAE has a full tummy! :)

*squints* Nah, I can't see the vent at all in those pics... :/
