Not all plecos require driftwoods. If these are the common ones, they don't need the wood but they definitely appreciate having one to rest on. Panaques are the ones that require wood especially strictly for their diet.

he is the plane pleco. He hides in his little home all day comes out at night.
I heard that they make a place their home and spend 90% of their time there.
Which is the reason i havent gotten rid of the dumb pot he lives in. lol

A word of warning, a common pleco will get to be 12"+ long. You're probably going to have to take him back to the petshop eventually.

nice tank :)

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

your saying a 45 gallon tank cant handle a 12" pleco?

cause i have a new 55 gallon tank. (which i just built a stand for!) And a 75 gallon. So he will always have a happy home!

found out the chichlid is a Ahili (what pets mart labled it as)

That's what he said. A 12" pleco will be unable to swim well around that tank even if it's a 55 or a 75. You have hundreds of species to pick. I'd suggest replacing this one with a bristlenose or anything that does not exceed 6 inches in length.
