Today I finally got my plants, so it is time to set up the tank.

Using Aqueon Quietflow filter., topfin 300 watt heater, not sure what the lighting is.
Plants include Duckweed, frogbit, hornwort, dwarf penywort, moneywort, red ludwigia, parrot feather, and some other plant.
Sand substrate.

Off to a good start! I love minnows, I hope they do well for you. . . good that you're having the water tested, just a word of warning, though you probably already know this; don't let the shop tell you it's 'fine,' make them give you numbers. Also worth noting that MY PetSmart uses strips to test, which is not the best way. Perhaps you should consider making your next purchase an API test kit?

Good luck, and keep us posted!

I plant to get the kit, but i have to buy the saltwater test kit. BTW i think one of the white clouds is preggo, her belly is much bigger than the others. Im hoping that its just because she is a she and thats why she looks that way. Also the male clouds are being big meanies to each other, chasinf and nipping relentlessly, any ideas as to why?

I think you're probably correct on both counts, shoaling fish tend to be more obviously aggressive when they aren't kept in ideal numbers, but I haven't had a chance to keep these little beauties. Hopefully they'll be okay until your tank is more established and you are able to add more. . .

It finally cycled a few days ago. Been no trites or ammonia. But i had to move and havent set it back up yet. It will be running a fluval 305 cannister when its set up. Changing substrate to some kind of soilk and brown pebbles.
