poof, finally we managed to get this behemoth to the first floor apt...

took 6 guys to basically lift the tank and put it on the dolly...

i had to give away all the fish in my 40 G and empty it out, as i didnt have space put this big guy... my filters are running in my 55 gallon tank in the office... so my bacteria stays alive in the filter...

so, here's what i have

210 tank w/ builtin overflow
AGA model 4 sump...

stand, canopy etc... will update as i work on the tank...

Nice tank! Looking forward to seeing it set up and filled.

TBH, I'd be tempted to put a whole lot of smaller fish in there and stay away from monsters. Not necessarily tiny fish, but I think it'd be gorgeous as an amazon type community with lots and lots of plants.

please put freshwater sharks and stingrays in there.

PLEASE???? lol thats what I would do with a tank that size any ways.

but what ever you put in it im sure it will look good
i would sure love to have FW stingrays in there, but i have no exp on them... ofcourse, there is always the first time...

right now i have a busy schedule with work and school, i just dont want to take any chances on spending a lot of $$ and end up not taking the time to maintain...

if it was a regular community tank, i can have my brother or my dad to help me...

from what i have read fw stingrays are expensive and require quite a bit of work to keep up with.

BUT you can hand feed them and pretend like you are at seaworld :D

they don't sound like the right fish for you i guess but thats what i really want haha
TBH, stingrays were my first choice... the moment i laid eyes on this tank, i started doing reserch for some exotic fish... the problem is, this is my parents house and i am only here on the weekends...

i dont like the idea of my little bro climbing up the small ladder and putting his hands in there to pet the fish or feed the fish...

besides, FW stingrays are venomous as well... why take the risk when there are 100's and 100's of other beautiful fish you can enjoy with out being afraid of getting stung...

Sorry, but I just have to say, Thats a dang shame. Why, when you have a 210 gallon reef ready tank and sump, wouldnt you want to start a reef? They are just so much more rewarding, and much more interesting in my opinion.
that would make me so happy and i am sure its the most rewarding, but i dont have the time, experience or $$ to start one... i am juggling between work and school right now, and just cant take the risk...

the tank is going no where, so once i graduate and get a full time job, there is no stopping.

Heh, Kudos for you for having the restraint to wait. I couldnt, at least not anymore. Best of luck with the new set-up. A tank that size will make a beautiful display, regardless if it's SW or Fresh.

Cant wait to see it in all it's glory. Keep the pics coming.
