Oh MAN! Poor Fox! *hugs* What a debacle! Very glad to hear that all is well, and that you, the fishes, and their water is taken care of!

Are you nervous about leaving them for a week? I would be. . . I haven't dealt with a vacation from my tanks yet!

Perhaps it is. That said lol that place. Don't bother with their advice unless you want people who encourage you to overstock with aggressive animals and generally give bad advice

Not really. The tank is stable enough that all it needs is someone feeding them and I've got a person trained up to do that pretty well. I separate the food into daily amounts and put it in a pill container thing that separates based on day. That way no more than what I put in each day is given. I will probably get some blackworms before I leave town so that the loaches have something to feast on while I am away. Then it's a matter of the dry food (the pellets) being put in, and the flakes being put in.

Yea, don't worry I'm not following in their footsteps. But they do have some good advice, was mostly looking at food related stuff. I don't support the way they jam those poor fish into those tanks like that either. It's quite sad. The forum is a weird mix of insanity with a tiny bit of genius.

Haha that's very well put. I"ll have to remember that next time I have to describe that place to someone.

So I have some awesome news! We went up to the thrift store while waiting on the pharmacy to fill in the script for the antibiotic and they had a 20 gallon long glass tank. Looks like it was used as a snake tank previously and according to the made tag it was made in 2011. So..fairly brand new. The original price was the thrift store wanted was 20 USD but since it was half off day we got it...half off. Or more like my mom got it because she thinks Blue-Gill should be in a bigger tank.

This is an all glass thing and definitely rather heavy too. It's cleaned up and sitting in my room now and I already tested that it holds water Can't do much till I have the substrate to put down and that will be a while.

This is the tank.

You and your thrift-store deals! I'm so jealous. . . I think it's awesome that your mom inspired this! I can't WAIT to see what kind of bubblenests he'll build in a tank that big, lol. Glad something good came out of your accident!

I do that with food too! I dont trust my moms feeding habits when i leave for a day or two, and since i have fry, i like to feed them a little bit a few times a day...she would over feed and kill them all! so a medicine organizer is perfect. =]

Hope your injury starts to heal fast!

I definitely wish my thrift store carries used tanks..So jealous!

That is if he goes into there. I would like the idea of putting him in there but if I did it limits what I can put in the tank. My friend wants frogs and I really want something like a whiptail. We will see how it goes down the road.

Great minds think alike :3

That said I hope so too, it's difficult not having full mobility of your hand.

That said I've got some new video. Some people wanted to see more video of the Gourami (longer too) so I went down and got some. Got a bonus too because Queen came out while the camera was still rolling.
