"Long fin" anything I generally don't see a problem with. Except long fin serpae tere, that's just the saddest most ironic thing (probably the most famous fin nippers).

I don't see how the long fins would create too much of a problem. Just make sure their tank doesn't have anything those trailing fins can get caught on and rip and don't keep them with notorious fin nippers.

Just a little bit of an update, I've got a better close up video:

Out of the four baby yoyo's one is left. I've brought in two Golden Yoyo Loach because they look so similar and their pack behavior is similar too. I'm happy to say get along well with the Yoyo's and act like one big loach family.

I've finally got most of the willow to stay down. I've got two big long pieces of Pennywort that is floating on one side of the tank. The Gourami's appear to appreciate this and like to hang out there.

For some reason one of my Senegals seems to like hanging out under that piece of slate that is leaning on the pipe. That was supposed to be a spot for my loaches. They hang out there too since they have no problem squeezing in with other fish.

Of my two golden apple snails one just suddenly died. I introduced blanched Bok Choy for the snail left and he took to it well. Not much else to report except the plants are all pretty happy. I did my first 50 percent water change yesterday. It was a lot of work but very worth it. Judging by the state of my filters though it's obvious this tank needs a Canister before long. I'm open to suggestions and I'd like to keep it under 200 if at all possible.

Here is a picture also of the tank:

Love the gourami at 1:55. Looks like he got stage fright from the camera!
Surprised even one snail is still in there.. aren't snails a loach's favourite food?

It's fine. Apparently sometimes after a snail goes through making a lot of eggs they die. Or so I've read. The other is still around though and I'm seeing babies popping up.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing when he froze up like "uh...what do I do?". Well the large apple snails are a bit too big for the loaches to bother. Although the two Golden Zebra Loaches have tried a few times.

Random update, one of my two filters (the worse one) decided it doesn't want to work properly anymore. Since it's a fire risk I've removed and thrown it out. Now I need to get a new filter...I love how things always break at the worst possible times.

I leave town next week, and this happens. Well I've got the money (though I didn't want to use it on this), so I'm going to go ahead and order the Aquaclear 110. I love the aquaclear I have right now. It's the only good HOB I know of. The one I will order does about 500 gph and has a large area filter media wise.

I may scrap getting a canister if this one does what I need it to.

So today was one hell of a day.

I went out and got the replacement filter and set it up. So that's doing well and already it's making a difference in the water quality. I also got some tubing to help make water changes easier and while I was freeing the tubing from the tape it suddenly separated as the tape gave way propelling the scissors into my left hand. Now my left thumb sports two big stab wounds and I went to the hospital to have it checked out.

Good thing is it missed anything important. They gave me a shot, put me on some antibiotics, and checked the range of motion. They also cleaned it up, put some sort of cream/gel on it and wrapped it good.
