I love how Mother Nature gave me sleet on the day of this :C

But I rinsed the 100 pounds of sand anyway, and now I'm back inside getting warm again. I will keep you all updated. I do have some sad news. Bluegill passed into the morning. I've been doing spread out feedings with him but it appears he must have located a cache of blackworms and gorged himself. He spent the last few days pale but slowly passing his enormous meal...but he gave up during the morning. I don't think I"ll be getting another betta in a long time because it really hurts to have lost this one.

RIP little buddy! You were the best Betta a girl could ever have! A fighter till the end!

I'm so sorry, Sang! Poor little Bluegill! He was a beauty of a fish with the best temperament.

I can't imagine washing 200 lb of sand in this weather. It's terrible outside. You've got some serious dedication to those fishies. I hope they appreciate their warm home!

I was so looking forward to him having the entire top of the 80 to himself :C

100 pounds, and wouldn't you know it that once all it set up that the stupid air pump doesn't work. It chose to pump bubbles for all of a few seconds and then quit. Seems like the insides are busted so I have to return tomorrow. The water is too silty for pictures and I'm too tired. Also TERMY if you see this please let me know that you are okay. I missed your text somehow.

I've kind of been waiting for an update to that last bit - everything okay with Termie!!?

I am DYING to see this particular tank in it's new home! Sounds like it made a bit of a dramatic entrance :/

I am so sorry I kept everyone waiting with updates. I've had little to no time to shoot any video, or even move Sen over. Today it was my priority when I got home to move Sen over and also get some footage.

Before that I can definately see that her tail has some redness going on and so does one of her anal fins. She's taken several close nips before from Queen but more than that I think this is stress related. I am going to keep a close eye on this and will remedy if necessary with meds.

The ropes will go in in due time but I don't want to overwhelm the tank's bio-load capability quiet yet. So first Sen, and when it's time the four ropes will follow.

Don't mind the photobombing fish. Sen has been zooming about quite calmly enjoying her space.

Finally I have some short video of Sen roaming her new home:

She looks so SMALL in that big old tank :) I hope she heals up quickly, and settles in well to her new home!

The reason Sang was worried was because on the way home from dropping the tank off, a giant blizzard came through the highway I was on. I ended up going off the road into a ditch but my car is fine, the fish were fine and of course I am fine. It took an extra three to four hours to get home because of that :/

Sen does looks small in that tank. I always thought Sang's bichirs were bigger but when I saw them they weren't TOOO huge. I guess it's only because I have a giant pleco now hahahah. I was expecting to Queen to be HUGE though :P

Sang, I like that log in there. Are you going to put Stumpy in the 90 Gallon as well?

I was getting worried! Found Fox in chat and she let me know you - and the rasa - were okay. Sounds like a crazy trip, glad nobody got hurt... so neat that you guys got to meet IRL, though :) Fun to see your tank pick up where you left off!

Thing is, it's a bit of an illusion. I'm having a difficult time with my camera and this tank. My usual video is coming out "blue" so I had to do some adjustment. Shes much bigger in the tank than she looks, it's just the thick glass distorting it. But she's already settled! She's now claiming the tank as her own and even pulled a Queen flaring up to show me "HEY THIS MY TANK!". She also ate a worm that I put in for her.

I'm glad everything turned out so well for us all. That said Sen isn't really that big. To get a real idea of scale with Queen she has to come out and breach. Then you realize "Wait she looks a lot bigger than she did when hiding in that cove of hers". But yeah once you have a giant fish like that big pleco nearly everything else will seem tiny. Yes that long bit of wood will stay in there. I don't plan to move Stumpi over right away. Right now Queen ignores him so I'm going to wait till she shows signs of beginning to pick on him before moving him over. This gives me a chance to fatten/heal up Sen and give her more confidence when it comes to food time.

The ropes however will go in when I feel I'm ready for them to go. Also I brought home an enormous Bronze Wendtii that we found at the pet-store. I had to break it into three plants but it helps fill in the tank and create more green to make the thing look less bare. I expect to see melting but hope to get more root tabs to keep them happy.
